Our group either walked, biked or rode motorcycles to the rather small village Viet Hai. This is where AuCo has an organic garden where part of the product goes for feeding their guests aboard their ship and the rest is for the local people in the village. Just a delightful tour combined with history and local folk lore.

If you do the long hike from Cat Ba national park, you will pas through viet hai Village. It is a nice Village, not particulary interesting. There are lots of tourists, which makes it less authentic.b

The opportunity to visit the village was an option on a 2 day cruise with the Au Co cruise line. The options were to either bike or use an electric car to reach the village. Certainly the area was an organic farm with buffalo, ducks...More

Set at the end of a simple paved several kilometer road from the wharf, running through hills and a beautiful valley, the village years back decided to take advantage of its setting and proximity to Ha Long Bay. Rather than continue to survive on subsistence...More

I visited my close friend's family last Feb. The life there is just so peaceful. They can gather almost everything from nature: vegetables from their garden or around the mountain. Fishes from sea. Although they live in a tourist spot, they can earn nothing from...More

We went to this village as an afternoon excursion from our 3 day Halong Bay cruise. We were tendered to the Viet Hai Pier, from where we could take a bike or an electric car to the Viet Hai Village. Or we could walk, which...More
