Small, simple, seems a little rundown.

I actually had to leave this zoo feeling sick it was barbaric and the living conditions were unseen of in our culture. Omg the poor elephants clearly distressed and swaying as chained many hours and no interaction until they had to perform (which i btw did not want to see) I have never seen so many crocodiles crammed in to... I regret visiting here with young children. Plunket Zoo place is dirty and smelly and the animals are chained up and live all the time on concrete floors. The elephants rock side to side, they are in extreme psychological distress. This place should be closed down and the owners put in prison. Please do not visit or close your eyes... More

We went as a couple and walked around this place for 2 hours. There are plenty of animals to see here. Food here was good too.

We went to this place on holiday, it is disgusting, cramped, dirty and cruel. The animals are treated poorly and are underfed. They are cramped in pathetic, muddy cages. The elephants and tigers are chained to the grown by their feet in blistering hot weather. All the workers there were focused on making money, no one was cleaning the cages... More

We went to the Phuket Zoo mainly to see the Orangutan that we knew was there only to be disappointed, he must have been on a holiday. They were building a new enclosure apparently. We saw the elephant show which was good, the monkey show was a bit lame, and the crocodile show was different. Generally, the zoo was in... More

Regret not reading the reviews before taking my two daughters here. The poor animals are not looked after and kept in small cages. The Tigers were scrawny and looked sad and ill. The elephants were chained to the floor so they couldn't even lift their leg, I'm glad we didn't watch the show. The crocodile show was just taunting them.... More

I visited this place briefly with my daughter on our first family trip to Thailand, really wish I hadn't! Upon entering, the first animal we saw was a tiger chained to a rock, so tourists could have a photo with it. It looked very sleepy and didn't move. The next thing was a small monkey locked in a tiny cage,... More

As it was a first time trip to Thailand, I had heard a lot of good and bad things about the zoo so decided to check it out myself. The zoo itself looks run down and old but the staff you could not fault as they were friendly and welcoming. Walking through the zoo it was pretty sad. Tigers were... More

Me and my family visited the zoo on our last day in Phuket as something to do to kill some time from our check out time at the hotel until our flight later in the evening.
