About
This small island off Pattaya's coast is a great day trip spot for some beach fun. You can reach Koh Larn, or Coral Island, in just 40 minutes by ferry or speedboat from Bali Hai Pier. The crystalline beaches and warm, pristine waters are great for parasailing, jet skiing, banana boat rides and snorkeling. And for the best views on the island, locals recommend the Big Buddha Viewpoint.
Explore the island by renting a cheap scooter, or join a group tour, which typically takes care of your transport to the island as well. – Tripadvisor

Getting there is easy, make your way to Bali Hai Pier and there are many option. Ferry seem to be on a 2 hourly schedule and cost only THB 30, alternatively, get on a Speedboat for 5x the price at THB 150 (faster and no schedule, once passengers are filled and it will leave for the island).
Arriving at the island you will see many shops and cafe, Amazon Cafe is my go to for drinks in Thailand. There are some Toilets at the pier side to relieve yourself, HOWEVER, paying for Toilet does not guarantee a clean and hygienic experience. There will always be tout for taxi and transfer, you can just ignore them or bargain with them.
I would suggest turn left and walk a bit past quaint shops and cafes, and come to a temple opening. There is a Tuk Tuk (modified pickup truck) station, from here you can board one of them to the beach you want to go, all prices are display upfront between THB 30 to 40, unless it is somewhere really far away and could cost up to THB 600 (the hilltop viewpoint).
At each Beach station, there are Tuk Tuk waiting for you to go to another beach or back to the pier (the temple open ground, you need to walk to the pier), however, you need to wait till the Tuk Tuk is full of passengers before it will leave for your destination.
Once you’re back at the pier, it is the same option to take a Ferry or Speedboat back to mainland Pattaya.

Yes, the water is crystal clear blue, if you can get past the 1000s of tourists, scooters, loud boats and being overpriced. I feel I've wasted a day coming here. It is constant noise, exhaust and very loud boats/jetskis. If you are looking for relaxation, this is not it, but if you love water sports, hanging with friends and family shopping, drinking, etc, you will have a good time. Speedboat here from Pattaya, 300B round trip in 25 minutes. They have everything one could need if you forget anything. Parasail is 800B. Scooters around 300B to rent for the day. If you want a coconut 50-70B. Overall, I wouldn't have come here.

My nephew and I rode motorbikes around the island -- not for the faint of heart as we had many steep hills and a number of hairpin turns. It was worth it for the beautiful beaches and gorgeous views. We went swimming and jet skiing. Easy ferry ride from and to Patayya.

Been here a few times over the years and I can say it is changing from just a day trip island to a stay a few days.
Now there are a few bars open till late, with music and even live bands. More places to eat European food and many more places to stay.
The downside to this is a lot more people coming over. The ferry is 30 BAHT each way, one ferry comes to the front of the island where you can hire a motorbike or walk to the marketplace and jump on a pickup taxi at about 30 BAHT down to another beach. The other ferry goes to the back, where it's a short walk to a beach. There is a 7-11 here and plenty of food stalls.
You can also catch a speed boat over to the island at about 150 BAHT each way.
So that's about it other to say there are 7 beaches and some can be quite but not guaranteed.
One last thing lots of cheap Thai food places to eat, they don't look that good but I have eaten at a lot and never been disappointed.

I don't want to share this Island with anyone and want to keep it all to myself ;).
I truly love this Island. It is picture perfect and lovely. A little piece of Paradise.
Please leave it clean and natural and when I come there again everyone must leave so I can enjoy this bit of paradise for myself Ha ha ha...

We visited Koh Larn from Pattaya for a weekend. Beaches were nice. We relax there. The only problem is that none accept credit cards and we did not find any exhange store. Take care!

He ferry's go from Bali Hai Pier and cost just 30 Baht each way. Life jackets are provided. There isn't too much to see or do on the island however the views of Pattaya and Jomtien during the crossing are superb

The island is very fun. If you are visiting take a whole day trip. The meals are provided by the tour operator. the tour operator is attentive and if you want to add a new activity they will let you do so but they are paid. I would recommend taking the basic slider package and doing the sea walk. The slider is fun. In the sea walk they put on a helmet that provides lots of pressure and makes your ears hurt but once you go deeper into the water you get comfortable with it. There are multiple stops for parasailing, slider and snorkelling and sea walk. Will recommend with family and a large group.

There are many beaches. You can do many activities like squid fishing and banana boat rides. And enjoy fresh seafood with spicy sauce. Some parts of the island is peace and great for relaxing.

There are regular ferries all day to Koh Larn, so you can go there from Pattaya anytime after you arrive.

The beaches are great on the island. You may take tuk-tuk or moto taxi or rent a bike to get there. Rent costs 300 per day. It takes 20 minutes to get to any beach on the island from the ferry.
Ferry can arrive at different places from mainland. But it doesn't matter. There is a transport everywhere.

I am planning to visit Coral Island on December. I read that there is a viewpoint called Kaun Yin. What is the best way to get there from the Pier or the beach? Are there any other better viewpoints in the island?

I am planning to visit Koh Learn island and stay for around 5 days from 7th Nov. I wanted to stay in a back packer place but can't find any on the search sites. Can anyone recommend a suitable place preferably close to the beach.

Kho larn is a tad expensive if I were you find a hostel in pattaya and there are many near walking street, that is where Bali hi pier is, and catch the ferry everyday, but rent a motorbike 200 bhat per day, when you get off the ferry walk past the guys who are renting bikes go to the end turn left there is an old woman there renting bikes 200 bhat with gasoline all day, then explore the island, great place.

Most of all the bangkok tour packages includes the Bangkok city tour and Coral island tours.
I would suggest if you are in India, to look for "Dpauls " packages as they give variety of such tour packages and even customize. A little on higher side as they generally give better hotels than rest, though they still have the star category mentioned.
I would suggest in bangkok you can look to visit the golden Budha temple( sleeping budha), and also the Bangkok king palace. its nice when you are with Family and something to tick mark when you are there. Though these things if you have time, you can ask your hotel travel desk only and they also can arrange, typically a half- to full day trip.
Bangkok City tour i think also covers one of them.
When you in Pattaya, any hotel that you stay can and should guide you to coral island tours, generally that tour includes parasailing and maybe snorkeling/ banan boat and coral island as a package. . generally around 1500- 1900 bahts( 4000 per person).
But since you are with family, i suggest to book the packages from here and maybe few good travel agents can give the above, most of them have what you indicated with a plus/ minus of few things.
Thanks that was useful. Where did you book your mentioned tour.

Hi, I didn't book any tour, just walked to pier and took a boat (you can just walk to the big boats and pay there). In the Island I just walked to the baht bus parking area and took the bus from there.

I would like to know where did you purchase onward and return ferry tickets to Coral island ?
What time you started and what time you returned ?
is it safe to travel as a couple to Coral island ?

Pls avoid Speed boats at any cost. Ferry is cheap and safe , you just need to wait longer. Most of the Speed boats are not maintained regularly and not safe for travel particular when sea is rough or during bad weather. Besides I could not find anything special in Koh Larn Coral island , there are just too many tourist and extra hype . You wont get many good restaurants but they are local cuisine
