"Welcome to Happy Chef Thai Cooking School! Head chef and instructor Khun Lom is a native Thai lady from Issan and her recipes are original Thai food and delicious. The school's manager American Warren is a retired teacher and coach who speaks fluent English and is very experienced at patiently teaching people while having fun. This combination of East Meets West makes for a very fun and rewarding experience to remember. Students chose 4 dishes they want to learn to make from the wonderful recipe book of 20 popular Thai entrees and deserts. HAPPY CHEF is the most popular and highest rated Thai cooking school in Pattaya Thailand. Don't be confused. They speak English and are experienced teachers and Thai chefs. Perfect experience... thank you. We had cooking class this year with my mom. Friendly staff and atmosphere. Made perfect Thai food. Highly recommend.

Such a great experience

Walter and his family make you welcom from the moment you arrive. Your ingredients are prepared and Walter and Lom talk you through the ingredients and when to put them in your wok. The food takes just a few minutes to cook and is delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed all of our dishes and the friendly atmosphere. You will be inspired to cook when you get home.

Definitely worth a visit

If you’re in Pattaya I highly recommend this place! We had so much fun.. and took home a load of knowledge (and recipe book) to cook the dishes at home.
All ingredients are locally sourced and you will cook and then enjoy your dishes in the little restaurant or you can take them away!
Warren is a great teacher and makes it a fun experience and the rest of the staff are lovely.. it was something different that we hadn’t done before and we really enjoyed it. Highly recommend the wing bean shrimp salad and seafood special if you want to try something very Thai and very tasty 🤩 would definitely go again

This was so much fun, but more importantly, something I will use. I absolutely love Thai food but it’s difficult to find where I live. Warren is an American expat who teaches the class and his Thai wife Lom is the final taste tester before anything goes out. She can discern if the smallest ingredient is missing or if anything needs adding. I gotta say, this food, which I COOKED, is better than many Thai restaurants I’ve visited. But come prepared with an empty belly because you’ll be eating four large, delicious, meals with every class.

Great and easy learning Cooking School

This was one of my highlights of my holiday as I am not the best cook but Warren and Lom put me straight at ease. They explained everything on a basic level which enabled me to produce a number of excellent dishes. If you are looking to do something in Pattaya then this should be on your list. Thanks Warren and Lom for the experience.

Three friends and I went to Happy Chef Cooking School while vacationing in Pattaya, Thailand. We had a great time! Warren, the teacher, an American ex-pat, and his wife, Lom, a Thai native, run this class. Warren is friendly and puts you at ease right away, He provided simple and clear instructions on how to prepare and cook each of the dishes and made each of us feel like we were “Top Chefs”. He also explained each ingredient and the importance of the ingredient to the dish. Each of us pre-selected 4 dishes to prepare. Warren and Lom had the ingredients prepared and organized in advance for each of us. Lom was also essential in the success of each dish we prepared and completed. She tasted and gave her approval on each dish before we plated the food.

If you want to have great fun and eat excellent fresh Thai food made by your own hands, then the Happy Chef is a must do. Be prepared to get stuffed. Once you make a dish you eat it and because it is so much food know that you will have tons of leftovers:)

I highly recommend checking this place out. Warren is from the US, been in Thailand for several years now and is great on not only explaining the different ingredients of each dish, but background and reasons as to why it is in each dish. His wife is also his partner in the class, her recipes are top notch. I actually fell in love with the dessert Mango sticky rice, when making it at this place. Best part is that you make 4 dishes from a menu of 20, lots of food to eat, it all tastes great, and it's cheaper than most other cooking classes. The reason is probably because you are just cooking and not going to the market to select all your ingredients, you are just cooking everything and learning about the ingredients while cooking. They offer 1000 bhat per class, 4 dishes per class, and if you cook every dish over the course of 5 days, the last day is free (or so advertised). My sister made cashew chicken and stated it is the best cashew chicken she has ever had. If you want authentic Thai recipes and learn how to cook them, this is a great place to learn and taste Thai cuisine.
