The Sanctury of Truth is a beautiful sight to see. It is very imposing, especially since it is completely made of wood. The carvings are very detailed and look beautiful. The story about it is also fascinating.

The entrance fee of 500 baht is relatively high compared to others. However, if the money is well used, it fits.

What I unfortunately did not like was that there were offers to ride elephants. Everyone has their own opinion, but I do not like this.

Otherwise great location and definitely worth a trip.

The wood carvings that make up this building are a sight to behold. Every corner you look in has a different beautifully carved motif. The pictures that you see online definitely don't do justice to the scale of this place. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Pattaya.

Jes was our guide around and he was superb! Explained in perfect English and had a great sense of humour. Filled our group with insightful information about the build, the ideology and the future of the building. The carvings were astounding and to witness the people making the carvings to complete the building was spectacular.
The only downside was the elephants which were there, shackled by the feet, and you could buy bananas to feed them and to ride them- exploitation of these magnificent creatures is a ever acceptable. All the teachings showed us how to be kind to living things, yet these captive animals were not living proof of this.
All in all, a beautiful experience and highly recommended.

The Sanctuary of truth is a beautiful example of Thai Architecture. The wooden temple is still under construction considering the enormous amount of carvings envisioned in the original design. It is one of the most popular sighseeing places in Pattaya

The sanctuary was beautiful. Amazing a building like that is made entirely out of handcarved wood. Impressive! The atmosphere in the sanctuary was peaceful, the view was great. It is possible to follow a guided tour in different languages.

Entering you meet the big problem: The Thais' lack of skills in English. We asked: Is face mask mandatory (I have asthma)? Yes, was the answer. Yet no one, not even the staff wore one. So it was not mandatory. Another question: Can we pay with Visa-card? No, was the answer. Yet we found out, that it was possible to pay the entrance fee with card.

Inside you will find a small mini zoo: It's not at mini zoo, its 17 goats. You can go for an elephant ride or a horse ride but if you look closely the animals do not look happy and well taken care of.

On pictures (e.g. here on Tripadvisor) you are told it is possible to take a traditional thai rowing boat. It is not.

All in all: The sanctuary is beautiful, do not expect anything of the rest.

And another thing: You are not allowed to order a Grab inside the parking lot. Taxa companies says they offer fair prices, all though a taxi to our hotel would be 350 bath and a Grab 150 bath.

PS: Do not believe Google. The site is open until 18 (and not 16:30 which is the time for the last tour)

It's a private property and well maintained. The management is very
Specific about visitor's safety and insist to wear safety helmet which they are providing. Guide service available in 4 different languages. I opted English. The guide explained the story of the temple very well. Now the temple will be closed at 6 pm. Last entry closes at 4.30 pm. In future temple may be opened till 10 pm.

This temple/museum is one of the most stunning structures that I've seen. It is entirely made out of wood without metal nails. This is an ongoing construction project, so everyone is required to wear a helmet. It is said that the Sanctuary was built during the tensions of the cold war and the owner wanted to enlighten people about Buddhist and Hindu values to achieve peace. We were with a tour group, so I'm not sure about the admission price, but to take advantage of the cost, focus on the intricate and beautiful carvings that highlight the Thai art of woodcarving. You can see artisans at work. Before you go, read up about the significance of some of the carvings to give your time there more value. For example, the Southern Hall is about parental love and love starts with the family. An elevator is available and there are ramps inside for the disabled. Some steps were steep. There are other activities like elephant rides and areas to lounge and have lunch. Proper attire like covered legs and shoulders is required.

Cool place, with many opportunities for photo. Ticked of 500 baht seems a little overpriced. You can take many uniqe photos
