Don’t miss this when you are in Pattaya
This is a must visit when you are in Pattaya. The place does not disappoint and lives up to the expectations provided you listen and take the tour guide which is free of cost. It is a wooden marvel made completely of carved wood without any nails. The place also gets you closer to spirituality and awakens you of what need to be done in the future related to coexistence and harmony. There are additional attractions like elephant ride, motor boats and rowing boats which would be a great option for young children .

    Just amazing!
We decided to go on a tour to Pattaya & this was the main attraction. We didn't know what to expect but wow this place is jaw-dropping. Made of hard wood (no nails) & just oozes the past. Its message on life is compelling & worth reading about. What brave undertaking to even think of building this on the water side. Inside is just as magical as the outside but you do need a guide to fully under stand what & why it was constructed. So pleased we visited here while in Thailand. You must go if you get the chance!!

    Ingenuity, persistence and beautiful art
Incredible temple/museum - 40+ years in the making and continuing its construction! We took the 1620 english tour of the workshop (where the building material is hand shaped) and the temple/museum. Recommend wearing pants/long dress to cover the knees and shoulders for the visit - though they will provide loose pants/sarong for those who need. Incredible building with valuable lessons and food for thought. worth the visit.

    Wood worker’s paradise
This is a definitely a must see attraction of Pattaya! The craftsmanship that went into this place is remarkable. They have been building this place completely out of wood, by hand for 42 years and still building. The tour guides do a great job explaining how it’s built and the meaning behind each carving. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend it especially for a woodworker. Please remember to tip your tour guide as they do a great job for little money.

    Fascinating place!
Not that you’ve come this far, you need to come just a little bit farther. This is my third (3rd) visit over the last two+ decades and have been impressed every time I’ve been here. Crazily, this place is still under construction after decades of workmanship, which is exceptional in nature and beautiful to the eye. Spend the afternoon away from the bar scene and get here…you’ll be happy you did.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We are super happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience after many times visiting us. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

    Nice
The English tour is included in the ticket price, and is interesting. Gets busier after 10 am, like really busy. The museum asks to wear appropriate clothing to respect the Buddha, or you can buy/rent inside. They have boat, cafe, picture, leggs massage, horse and elephant ride inside. Elephants are chained and try to steal bananas, we could not watch as the vibe is a bit sad. Yoy can easilly soemd6from 2-5 hours there. There is no bus, just taxi available our taxi did not have change, so we asked at the ticket office they said they just opened, but found change immediately when we bought ticket (we have paid online, but as we needed cash to pay for taxi, ended up with +1 ticket), so maybe have small change like 200-300bath. Except thid incident and elephants the museum is nice and does have a very nice vibe.
Hello there! . Thank you for visiting the Sanctuary of Truth Museum. We appreciate your feedback. Your review is valuable in identifying new ways to enhance our service further. Beautiful sanctuary
This was an beautiful location. However, please be aware that there was an elephant sanctuary that did not seem to take care of the animals at the location (I truly hope they fix this). Otherwise, the sanctuary of truth was an incredible experience. You must enter with a guide, but after the guided tour you can stay as long as you like. A very special and unique sanctuary. I would say it’s not to be missed if visiting Pattaya.
Hello there! I hope you are well at the moment. Thank you for visiting the Sanctuary of Truth Museum. We appreciate your feedback and this is well noted for the management. Again, thank you very much.

    Attention to detail is amazing
It was absolutely worth the 500 bhat I paid for admittance. A group of us was given a knowledgeable tour leader who gave us a thorough briefing. Everything is handcrafted, the art is beautiful, and the woodwork is flawless.Elephant ride is 400 bhat i definitely recommend everyone in Pattaya to have a visit to this mesmerising The Sanctuary of Truth

    Amazing woodwork of truth
Such amazing human construction of timber structure with ancient skill and no nails. The story and concept behind this place is even more interesting and profound. Externally hot on sunny day but umbrella provided. Safety helmet required as the site considered still in progress as maintenance and upgrading of the old structure continues. Many guided tours in different languages available so check timing of visit. Follow the guided tour first to understand the stories behind every sculpture piece, before going on own to take photos and explore the place. Traditional costume available for rent. They have small cafe outside, boat ride and for Muslim they have halal stall and prayer room.

Amazing temple and incredible architecture. They have nice guided tours about 40min. each offered in several different languages. Not a lot of history since this structure is quite new, but definitely worth visiting.

The Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya is an architectural marvel that offers visitors a unique and profound experience. This magnificent structure, entirely made of wood, stands as a testament to traditional Thai craftsmanship and philosophical thought. Unlike any other attraction in Pattaya, the Sanctuary of Truth is not just a visual feast but also a spiritual journey that delves into the essence of human philosophy, life, and the universe, as interpreted through art and architecture.

One of the most compelling aspects of the Sanctuary of Truth is its intricate carvings that cover every inch of the structure. These carvings depict various themes from mythology, religion, and philosophy, illustrating the importance of truth, kindness, and the cycle of life. The attention to detail and the sheer scale of the artwork are awe-inspiring, making it a perfect spot for those who appreciate art and culture.

Visitors to the Sanctuary of Truth can expect more than just a tour of a beautiful building. The sanctuary offers a reflective experience, encouraging guests to ponder the deeper meanings behind the carvings and the philosophies they represent. It's a place where art, culture, and spirituality converge, providing a unique perspective on the human condition and our place in the universe.

The location of the Sanctuary of Truth, right by the sea, adds to its mystical allure. The ocean backdrop provides a serene and majestic setting, enhancing the overall experience of visiting this extraordinary monument. Whether you're interested in architecture, spirituality, or simply looking for a peaceful retreat from the bustling city, the Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya is a must-visit destination that promises a truly enriching and unforgettable experience.

I think this is the most beautiful and impressive Temple, built and currently under construction from wood by master carvers. Located in Pattaya, Thailand. The ticket costs 500 baht. Quite detailed information can be found on the official website of the Temple. It makes sense to buy a ready-made tour, which includes delivery from the hotel and back after the tour, as it sometimes turns out cheaper. The guides give a lot of interesting information. I recommend visiting the Temple of Truth without fail!

Please stop riding the elephants, it’s horrible to watch them walking around the temple with people riding on them in the heat. Elephants should be free! I also saw goats crammed in small enclosures and some were even tied to concrete with no food or water. Ruined my experience!!! I don’t understand how you can justify using animals for your own pleasure and entertainment.

The temple is beautiful however! Amazing woodwork and interesting to see the actual work they are doing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write us a review. We wanted to let you know how sorry we are that you went through that harrowing experience with the animal. We assure you that as long as these animals are under our custody, they are well-fed and cared for by our in-house veterinarian and caretaker. Our sincere apology regarding this matter. On behalf of the management, thank you for visiting the #sanctuaryoftruthmuseum, and we wish you a safe trip and a wonderful time wherever you go. Have a nice day!

We would have had a better time if they were more understanding towards the persons needing accessibility. We had to wait long after the entrance time to get a car to bring us to the temple since we couldn’t climb down the stairs, then getting up on the museum there was an elevator but we had to contact the staff and the tour guide left us. So when we got up to the tour guide, more than have of his spiel was done. The tour guide also did not help us get the elevator going up. Also, the walk from the end of the tour back to the station for the car pick up to go back was a really long walk I would say 500m.

Great visiting for seeing the astonishing construction and hand made temple. Easy to go there and back by grab. Best time to go in the early afternoon and see the sunset. Make sure to check closing time.

Simply disgusting. This sanctuary talks about tolerance, respect and charity - right next to the tortured elephants that carry tourists around all day & are tied to incredibly short chains. The biggest double standard I have ever come across. I could just puke & cry at the same time. I seriously wonder when these people will finally realise what they are doing with their behaviour. I also have no idea which idiots will still be sitting on elephants in 2024 and riding around the farm after seeing how these elephants have to suffer. Our humanity is lost and it is just disgusting to see how it is still tolerated and offered. SHAME ON YOU ALL. The temple itself would be nice but I would never ever come back. Please wake up.
Additionally the ticket in the internet is much cheaper than buying it on arrival.
