The apt-named "Beach Road" runs the distance along Pattaya beach and is flanked on one side with a wide array of restaurants, pubs and massage shops, and with the beach on the other side. The road is pleasant enough during the day (albeit a little raucous at times), but in the evening/night it becomes a massive meat market. I have a high tolerance for sleaze, but the number and characteristics of the hundreds (thousands?) of freelancers plying their trade along Beach Road at night is a bit much even for me. So sad to see the huge numbers of very young on one hand, and the older and "over-the-hill" on the other hand. Even more bothersome is is the disgusting behavior and disrespect that some men display toward the working girls. And stomach churning to see entanglements involving children. It's easy to see why Pattaya is reputed to be one of the world's sleaziest cities!

To be honest and no doubt the entire Thailand is heaven on earth and value for money. It was my 16th visit since 2013.

The only good change is that some stay open in the evening. Before they used to close at six and the customers had to pay up and leave, which did not happen in the bars opposite.
Most of the deck chairs have gone and instead of the B50 deck chair fee, they now want B80 for a sun lounger.
Small beers are B80, top price now and cheaper in the bars, and remember you are paying to sit down at the beach.
Many have the same menus, and these are often charging B250 for Thai food. they do not cook . . .
I suspect they just order food from the street stalls in nearby streets, where they sell the same food for B50 - B60.
They also act as agents for the ocean attractions, and one showed B1400 a half hour to use a jet ski.
They are out of their minds! A Honda civic in Pattaya costs B1390 for a day's hire.
In conclusion they are now an expensive tourist trap. Just put a towel on the beach or lean against a tree, and drink a B50 beer from a seven/eleven.
Most of these beach chair concessions are without customers anyway, and no wonder.

Rue a sens unique allant de Pattaya nord à Walking street. Si vous y aller la nuit, soyez accompagné sir vous marchez du côté de la mer car mal famée. A noter que la plage est de plus en plus petite année après année.
One way street from North Pattaya to Walking street. If you go there at night, be accompanied if you walk on the sea side because it is infamous. Note that the beach is getting smaller and smaller year after year.

This an interesting road to walk along and it is always full of people for people watching. There are shops and eating places all along and the beach area itself has been totally landscaped, making it very accessible and attractive

While Walking Street in Pattaya remains generally shuttered the Beach Road seems to have recovered from COVID. It has the same vibe as pre-COVID. Being able to stay in a hotel on the beach and cross the road for a day at the beach feels the same: though the Beach is notably more crowded than 10 years ago.

Toooo many tourists, go here only if you enjoy crowded places & beaches. Not a place for serenity or calm beach experience. Too many beach side shops & sellers to disturb you throughout.

We went for a walk along Beach Road and I must say we really enjoyed ourselves taking a long and leisurely stroll while taking in the beautiful atmosphere around us.
