    Top class beach
We are staying on the beach at the Ammatara Pura resort. I read a review that described the beach as filthy in May 2023. I have to say that it is now pristine. I am a person who cannot abide rubbish on the beach, or anywhere for that matter and pick it up myself. I have literally seen no rubbish either on the beach or in the water. Gorgeous white sand and warm turquoise water.

    Smaller size Chaweng
It’s similar as Chaweng beach but shorter . Sand and wave and color of the water are decent . You could think it’s a smaller size Chaweng beach but with also a smaller size shopping area along the main street.

    A Quite Beach !!
We had heard a lot about this beach but we were disppointed to be here. The site where we came, it was almost empty. There were neither sunbeds nor any water sports. The shacks serving drinks and food were little far. The only good thing about this beach was, it was very quite unlike Chewang.

Long beach with lots of places to stop
A lovely beach walk, with plenty of restaurants dotted up and down it. It was very windy while we were there so we didn't go swimming in the water but wandering up the beach was pleasant. I will say that the hackers that walk up and down the beach can be a bit pushy though, we had the same person pass us a few times & each time they tried to sell us something we didn't want or need.

My favorite beach on Koh Samui
Lamai Beach is one of my favorites on the island. I stayed at an older resort down by the rocks. (Near the grandmother and grandfather rocks.) The oil previously reported at the beach is now gone. The first few days I didn't notice any garbage at the beach at all, but this morning I did notice quite a few plastic bottles. I don't blame the resorts. I blame the carelessness of humans in general. I like Lamai Beach because it's not as loud as Chaweng, but there are still lots of restaurants and things to do. The beach is very beautiful and not overcrowded. I'll return again next year for sure.

We stayed in a hotel just off the beach and on our daily walk it was disappointing to see so much rubbish piling up everywhere
Other than one person cleaning the area in front of her bar the rest of the beach was full of rubbish. Beaches in Spain and Portugal are cleaned daily. This should be done here
Also after our walk we had oil sticking to our feet. Apparently this is from the jet skis Don’t know how this could be solved

Beautiful sandy beach with some bars and restaurants and a few massage places. Staying at the aura resort and the Grandfather/mother rock formation is right next door

Just arrived hear to find a note from the hotel warning not to swim in the water due to oil spillage. Very disappointed. Thankfully we are only here three days.

Sticky mess and very difficult to wash out. Hotels are not alerting anyone to do clean up. Said it's from the ocean. It happens sometimes.

Unsafe to swim in water?

Trip-tip Lamai town centre beach I would avoid as you'll go home with a disappointed and potentially unhappy impression and memory of Lamai Town beach. The volume of litter and plastic is staggering. Walk 500m along the beach and it's lovely.
