    Beautiful but tricky hike
Beautiful view at the top but beware - very slippery and unmarked paths. It is easy to overshoot the hike to Muaeng 2. At the time I went there were no other hikers along the path (8-10am). The hike includes sheer rock face with ropes as there is moss and it is slippery, and rickety plank bridges. It is easy to fall here. There are pools to bathe in along the way. It takes around 1 hour round trip walking from the elephant kingdom at the base to top and back down. I recommend wearing hiking shoes for this and wearing lots of bug spray.

    Nothing much !!
During our day tour of Koh Samui our guide brought us here at the end of tour. It's a small waterfall and path leading to it is quite slippery. Nothing great. Thre are few food and souvenir stalls nearby. What we did not like at all was the sight of elephants being chained for the ride for tourists.

Look for the weather before viting
There was nothing to do much. The water fall was like almost dry. The water was muddy. Its much better to relax on beach. We visited the waterfall in the month of March when it is very hot due to which water flow was very low.

Nice waterfall but overcrowded.

There is also an elephant place where you can ride them to the waterfall, which is very sad and I would not recommend doing.

Na Mueang 2 is much better and quieter, but a tough climb.

Really Nice waterfall and area. Elephants should be kept out of the waterfall experince as they are located next to and you dont have to interact with Them

Animal Abuse, don’t even go to the waterfall as you’ll be promoting this disgusting organisation. We turned around, as soon as we saw the elephants chained up. Those tourists who ride the elephants should be chained up instead, completely unacceptable behaviour.

We went as part of a organised tour, waterfalls where a bit underwhelming but seeing elephants chained up and being mistreated and in bad condition. We witnessed the “handlers” taunting the elephants with food to do tricks, we went to a reputable Elephant Sanctuary where they were treated a lot better. I DEFINITELY WOULDNT RECOMMEND TO ANYBODY OR GO BACK!!

Waterfall was okay but the chained elephants ruined it all. It’s the first thing you see by the car park - 3 elephants chained up and confined to small caged areas with saddles on them, ready to be ridden by tourists. One of the elephants was rocking back and forth - you could see the suffering! I was in tears seeing this, and just after visiting an Ethical elephant sanctuary (Samui Elephant Haven), you can see the difference between the conditions that this animals are in. This is so cruel and must be stopped, and the only way to do this is to not give them any business!

We visited 9-Oct 2023, in the morning when it was still relatively cool. There are actually several Na Maung waterfalls, this is the usual tourist destination. There were a few other tourists, not crowded. Easy drive with car or motorbike or tour. As others mention, depressing elephant exploitation camp near the entrance. We ignored that. Some vendors selling the usual snacks and tourist things. The waterfall is a short distance from parking. Scenic waterfall. Maybe it is possible to hike to the top, but not obvious. There are some stairs to the left, but they are broken, rusty, and overgrown, not practical to go far. Maybe there is a trail, didn't try to follow it. There was plenty of water, splashing down into a muddy pool, I would not want to swim in it. Good for a short relaxing time, enjoy the ambience.
