This was easily our highlight in Thailand! We did the "elephant owner for a day" and I would definitely do it again if I had the chance. When we first arrived on-site, we were able to interact with the 2-month old baby elephant - absolutely...More

The elephant farm is a must see during your Phuket visit. It is a special experince although it may be a bit too touristic and not really genuine. If you like animals or if you are with kids, this attraction is a must.

My son and I loved this elephant Park! We learned so much about the elephants, how to tell if they're happy, how to tell if their digestive system is good, how to wash and bathe them, and the most fun of all, we got to...More

I love this elephant Park, it was the highlight of our trip to Thailand. They taught you how to feed the elephants, care for them, how to protect them, how to see if they were happy, bathe them, as well as ride them bareback... incredibly...More

In case you can't be bothered to read on, just book this - you won't regret it! The mini bus arrived promptly (early to be honest!) and took us up to Patara with some other local visitors from nearby hotels. We started with playing with...More

Will never ride an Elephant again but sure am glad I gave this a try. Just a little too old and out of shape to make it a comfortable experience. Still I did it and the staff was knowledgeable, patient and very proud of what...More

This was a once-in-a-life-time experience, so I'm glad we did it, but it wasn't one of my top highlights of the trip. We chose Patara because it appeared the most ethical Elephant place that still allows you to ride them for a short period...which was...More

OMG! What a day. Starting with pick up from hotel early morning 8am until drop off 4pm. Big day but well worth it...and the price. Started by being allocated to an elephant (and individual trainer) that's matched to your personality. They meet and greet by...More

The one thing we wanted to stay away from was elephant riding on a board over their spines. Here was our half day: Show up with approximately 14 people and get to just hang out with a few of the mother elephants and their babies...More

Heading to Patar with my family tomorrow. How should we dress? Should we bring sandals? Are there lockers to store our belongings and valuables or do we need to bring them with us?

Hi, Whatever you feel comfortable you can dress. Shorts and top, t shirts can be fine. If you want to carry swim suits that will be good during elephant bathing in river. Long pants they provide when you do bareback riding... More

Hi, I'm trying to make reservations with patara via email they have yet to respond. Would it be better to book through an agency when arriving in Chiang mai?

Hopefully by now they'll have gotten back to you. Booking through agencies may either cost more, or they'd suggest a different company. Usually one they have deals with or are family/friends. Hang in there. I didn't see they... More

Hi! I agree. Just be patient and wait until they respond. Do not wait until last minute to do your reservation because you may end up not having the opportunity to go. And yes, they're very casual with their responses but... More
