My 18 year old son had a blast. Not cheap (500b including gear and guide) and although for unlimited time, after two hours his limbs needed a rest! He enjoyed himself very much.

My 15 year old son loves climbing and as we had a free day in Chiang Mai we decided to head to No Gravity. Really friendly service with lots of routes to try, cracking way to spend a few hours.

No Gravity is a well maintained local climbing gym with a nice vibe due to the great staff. I showed up alone and climbed a full day at only 280 baht (entrance fee), because I had the luck of finding a partner to give me a belay. The gym offers a belay service at only 100 baht, and has a bouldering area, so your always good to go. The toprope routes vary from many beginner routes (starting at 5a) to many intermediate routes around the 6a to 6c grade and only a few higher than that. The most awesome climb must be one of the routes going from the wall onto the stalactite (lead climbing only, unless a toprope is prepared), with routes starting at 6a+. The gym provides drinking water and there is a Thai restaurant just next to it with great tasting food at good value for money. I walked to No Gravity from old town, no taxi needed. I highly recommend visiting this place to anybody!

I visited No Gravity two or three times in the last years and was pleased with the opportunity to try the walls and have fun with my friends and daughter. At that time the fee was 150 Baht and the friendly stuff would give you a brief belay training which worked fine for us. My friends and I are adults and keeping balance for your climbing partner did not seem to be rocket science. So everything was cool.
Today I invited my friends to that place again and was looking forward to having a good time.
I couldn’t find info about the fee on FB page, but trusted to chiangmailocator website assuring the price was 150 Baht, and belay service, if you need, 50 Baht.
It turned out that the price has been doubled (280 Baht per person) and that was no way you could avoid belay service fee (100 Baht). I did not mind, but as a customer I like to talk to business people, to have a good joke and then buy their service. I am a people person and enjoy negotiation as well. But the guy I tried to talk to at No Gravity did not share my enthusiasm. The very first question about the doubled price was encountered with a question if I knew the price in Bangkok. Once I said we weren’t in Bangkok, the guy heated up and the following discussion looked more like an argument than friendly service. Every question about the price and services, let alone my negotiation for discount on belay service was taken personally, not to say as an insult. I even had to ask him to relax a few times and not to take it so personally, Sabai-Sabai… It did not work. He did not want to say his name. He refused to answer if he was from Bangkok. So any of my attempts to make the discussion lighter and friendlier just failed. Eventually, he asked me “what about my salary?” (I have no idea what he meant), then I was asked if I was trying to teach him how to run the business.
After that I did not feel like climbing the walls. So they did not get my 280+100 Baht. That probably affected the guy’s salary. I wasn’t happy either. I don’t think I would come back any time soon. I am not going to recommend the place to my friends either. No one wins after all.

Friendly staff, helpful with gear rental and belaying, cheap pricing (~180B/day as of 4/2015). Decent selection of routes at all levels. Nice boulder area upstairs with topout.

Saw their brochure at the hotel and immediately rented a bike to get there. Not far from Old Town of Chiangmai, and easy to find. Me, my wife and 7yo had a blast being belayed by their very cool and friendly staff. Bouldering upstairs was a hit with my kid.

Only 180b and all the equipment is supplied and you can stay as long as you like. There are tonnes of routes and the staff are very helpful. Other climbers there seem to be very friendly as well.

Placed outside the center of Chiang Mai walls, you should have motorbike to reach it. The boulder is very nice, many different levels (180 THB to go and they give you material if you don't have (same price if you have your own)).If you are alone, you can pay extra 100THB in order to have a staff guy to assure you.
Toilet (with shower), music (bring your own in a cellphone with jack line), and free water are available.
There is boulder and climbing vertical route.
Really friendly and helpfull staff, and open from 1PM to 10PM. Little restaurant around to take a rest.
Very good place to be to clim indoor with friends for rainy days !

I was 2 months in Chiang Mai and I was regularly climbing in this gym.
I met a lot of nice people there. The staff is really nice and they know their job.
The routes were rich in variety, form beginner routes to "extreme" routes.
Bouldering is also possible !!!
So if you want to try out climbing go to NoGravity!

Are there any particular courses available? Also advice on transport from Old City area?

It was not when we were there in November. Gets a little hot, but the airflow is nice and they do have fans. Large front opening / garage prevents the air from getting even more humid and stuffy. Really cool gym to stop by, even if for just a little while.

Hello
How much is it to climb for a day and also hire the shoes and harness?
Thank you
Written 20 January 2017
It costs 250 baht to climb, which includes all the rental gear you need. If you need a staff member to belay you, it'll cost an additional 100 baht.
