I had a half day class with Air and made Course B - two soups and stir fried chicken. I had a great time at the class and would love to come back and take the other course as well. Air picked me up at my hotel on time and took me to a market for a tour and to buy some fresh mushrooms and herbs to use in our cooking. Then we went to his house where he has the most amazing outdoor kitchen with several cooking stations. As was common during my January 2022 trip, I attended the class solo. However, Air was willing to teach a class for one person without charging a supplement. Everything was well organized and his assistant did the all the prep work of cleaning the fresh ingredients and chopping the chili peppers. I left with a better understanding of the base ingredients in Thai food and especially the hot and sour soups. I also have a cookbook and apron to remind me of my class and channel my inner Air when I try Thai cooking at home. As a former tour guide and chef, Air had the teaching skills, history knowledge, and easily understood English to make a great class. I highly recommend.

Air is a natural at teaching. He’s extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and was willing to tailor the class to our interests. He asked us what we wanted to know and then focused on answering our questions. Air picked us up at our BnB and then took us to the local fresh market which was a fascinating experience. His cooking school is clean and well-laid out. He showed us what ingredients he used and recommended how we can find them in the U.S. The whole experience was personalized and well worth the cost. This was not a large mass-production type of class. He teaches authentic Thai cooking in a warm and friendly manner. You can’t go wrong selecting cooking Air’s Thai Culinary Kitchen - it’s hidden gem. This experience was the highlight of our trip to Chiang Mai.

We could not have enjoyed this experience more! We booked Air's Thai afternoon cooking lesson, when we arrived at his family home we received a very friendly and warm welcome. His land is so peaceful from the busy city and his kitchen is very spacious and immaculately clean. We were very lucky to be the only two booked in so it made the experience very intimate and allowed us not only to receive one to one tuition but also to get to know Air on a personal level. We did not stop laughing from start to finish, Air is very humourous! His assistant was very attentive and accommodating also.
We made three Thai dishes, we were pleased to be taught how to alter the dish to suit a range of thai dishes or to suit our tastes. It was a true authentic Thai experience as we learned about Thai customs and culture. A very memorable experience and left the kitchen feeling full of food, joy and a friend.

Did the half day class with my girlfriend and really recommend Air’s class. Small intimate experience. Great facilities and good professional explanations. Air is also super friendly and made our whole experience very enjoyable.

Really enjoyed this cooking school- we walked around the markets learning about food and then cooked three recipes. I liked the emphasize on cooking to suit your taste rather than just following a recipe. Great for me as I’m not a huge spice fan.
Lovely instructor too who is happy to answer lots of questions!

Chef Air is warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and really funny! Plus he is a terrific teacher! We visited the market to learn about ingredients, then went back to Chef Air’s home which has a huge, clean, well organized cooking classroom. It was only three of us so we got very personal attention but I’m sure Chef would do the same for a dozen. We made three dishes which were all about learning the method so we could do it at home. All three came out great and we had a lot of fun. I highly recommend this terrific and unique experience!
(Also, Chef Air was excellent with allergies- my wife has celiac so we did the whole class gluten free - no problem at all)
Thank you Chef Air!!

We booked the day before via TripAdvisor and my boyfriend and I were the only ones in the class. Air came and picked us up from where we were staying, and brought us to the local market.
We come from California, the land of farmer's markets and a lot of Asian ingredients, so while it was interesting to learn about the prepared foods that Thais make, the market visit mostly covered ingredients we already use in our weekly cooking. I asked a lot of questions and Air answered them all.
The cooking part of the class was in a beautiful outdoor kitchen not so far from the market. All of the ingredients were prepared in advance, and so the format of the class was to watch a demonstration of a dish, recreate with the prepared ingredients, and then to taste and eat it. The dishes were formatted in such a way that they could easily be recreated, not requiring a ton of experience or exotic ingredients / preparations. We did green curry, tom yom soup, and pad Thai. Part of me was hoping for some professional-chef-like schooling in this class (as I'm an experienced home cook). Since it was a private class, I thought it could be bent that way, but it's not really how it is setup.
All in all, the experience was really positive.

We had a great morning with Air. Our travel agent arranged for us to be picked up with Air and a driver and go to the local market where Air walked us around and explained all about how it works. The produce, snacks and fresh meats are all there and very organized. It’s a great feeling of community. After picking up some things needed for our class we went to Air’s family property. He has done quite an amazing job of building a huge place for his classes. We were walked through 3 traditional recipes that he explained and demonstrated. After each demo we manned our own stations and he helped us follow his recipes step by step. All ingredients were pre- prepped and his assistant was right on top of cleaning up and changing out anything needed. We learned about the ingredients and how to vary them for your own personal taste. (Mild to hot, and how to Bring out different flavors depending on how you layer the ingredients. Our Pad Thai rocked and lunch was served by our own two hands! Ha.

Air was very friendly from start to finish, he welcomed us with a big smile. We had to change the time of our class and he accomodated us with no problems. The kitchen is spotless and the utensils and facilities great. Everything was prepared for us before hand so this helped is focus more on the actual cooking and learning part. He explained all the different flavours and methods and answered any questions that we had. I reccomend Air's Thai to anyone wanting to do a cooking class while in Chiang Mai, it was definitely the highlight of our stay in Chiang Mai!

Even if you are a seasoned chef, Air will teach you something new. He has an exceptional facility we spent half a day in, learning to prepare local Thai cuisine.
Air personally met us at our Hotel and then transported us to the market. Later we arrived at his home which has a state of the Art kitchen/studio for demonstration and hands on experience.
We opted for a private lesson, it would also be fun with a small group (4-6). His facility will accommodate up to 14 individuals.
Air has an outstanding sense of humor which you will immensely enjoy as he shares culinary secrets of Thai cuisine with you.
Thanks Air!
