Family of 6 travelling with 4 kids (19, 17, 13 and 10).
We went on a 3 day, 2 night trek with Jumbo Trekkers organised through travel hub.
I really struggled with the ranking of This as there were some good stuff and less good and overall, we all agreed to was a positive experience. So it could've been a 4. But on balance, I think it is a 3... here's why.
Positives: the jungle is fantastic and beautiful and we did some lovely walks and saw some great waterfalls. Swimming and washing the elephants was the absolute highlight! We met some lovely people and the guides were great - very knowledgeable and looked after us well. One of them played the guitar and treated us to some Thai songs which was fabulous. Food was surprisingly good on the whole although chicken and rice got a bit same for lunch after 3 days. Accommodation was basic but generally clean (see more below).
Day 2 was the best day. We had a wonderful trek (much more like it difficulty wise) a swim in a lovely waterfall abc and experience feeding and swimming with elephants that we won't forget :)
Negatives: the trek was advertised as challenging on day 1. You're not kidding. Uphill for 2.5 hours in blazing sun. On a wide dirt track so not even in the jungle. Even the fittest amongst us struggled. This should really be made clearer as it did impact on us and the start of the trek. Night 1 accommodation was as expected - mats in a bamboo hut. Didn't appreciate dogs fighting all night and 7-8 cockerels also fighting and crowing all through the night. Made an uncomfortable night a bit more uncomfortable!
We had "coffee" at breakfast which was a mixed sachet with coffee, sugar and whitener. Disgusting. Take your own!
No water or drinks provided at all for the whole trip. The trip wasn't expensive, but we hadn't taken much money with us (we're in the jungle right?!) but we had to buy water/drinks everywhere so take money with you!!
Night 2 was also in a bamboo hut in the elephant camp which was so cool! Elephants in the forest behind us. The hut was basic and smelled of damp/mildew.
Biggest disappointment was day 3. Some of our group had planned only 2 day 1 night and had left us after the elephants to do white water rafting. We had an extra night then rafting the next day. But nothing else. No new walking/trek. We were offered to go back to a waterfall we'd already seen. In hindsight, 2 days and 1 night would've been adequate.
And the rafting was a bit rubbish. Only really 1 rapids and then a pretty flat river.
Overall a good experience with some average/bad bits...

I would recommend one of the CK Day Tours to anyone visiting Chiang Mai, myself, my mother and auntie were collected from out hotel in the morning at around 930 am and were taken to various Buddhist temples around Chiang Mai, there are so many temples in Chiang Mai ( 300+ ) we were taken to some of the most elegant and detailed, whilst in each temple we were educated on the history of the temple and Thai culture.
Our tour guide was most knowledgeable of thai culture and Buddhism, he made my mother and auntie feel very settled!
After visiting the temples and being educated about the history of Chiang Mai, we were then driven to the riverside for dinner, our tour guide did his very best to cater for everyones needs, ( my auntie was very english to say the least, so she was catered for ).
Price 5/5 - You can't put a price on the information and service given! :)
enjoyment 5/5 Y The host was very friendly and knew how to cater for all ages.
recommend to others? 5/5 I would recommend to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.... !

We did three day two night tour which was actually fantastic. Unfortunately though it was spoiled by our tour guide. He was a druken, racist foul mouthed pig. We had French, American, French Canadian and myself & 9 year old daughter Australian. The guide drank lots if moonshine and spent the first night abusing the french and saying he hated them and they should F Off. He was aked several times by myseld & others to stop cursing in front of the child but he continued. Eventually two of the americans had to drag him away from the group of which we were all very grateful. This behaviour continued the following evening. I am very glad i did the tour and it was great to meet some amazing people but it was a shame this tour guide did spoil it for us all. His name was abba and he carries a squirrel if you are French or wish to take children avoid him.

we usually don't participate in tours and like to discover new cities on our own however we only had 1 day in Chiang Mai and wanted to make the most of it. We booked an all day tour from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai. Long story short save the. $900 baht per person and do not get scammed like we did. Here's the tour in a nut shell, 12 hours long 8.5 of which you will spend driving in car. The other 3.5 you will do the following:
30 min at a hot spring
30 min at the white temple
50 min lunch
10 min boat ride
30 min at a shopping market (will cost extra but you won't know this until it's too late)
30 min for more shopping (we actually were fed up with all the shopping so the driver took us to the scorpion temple)
30 min at a hillside village (was actually another shopping market)
Do not pay for the boat ride to Laos. It cost us an additional 300BHT per person to an isolated island claimed to belong to the country of Laos but I truly doubt it. It was nothing but a shopping market... Oh an be prepared to pay another $30baht landing fee just for coming there.
In the village, you will notice no one actually lives there. It's just another market shop, they claim that no one uses electricity but we saw generators with mobile devices being charged. You can tell that the people who were wearing the costumes were wearing for them as an act and for marketing purposes. Heck they didn't even have the full garb on it was head pieces. Honestly, it looked like the set of a bad movie with bamboo huts.
It's a big scam and I highly recommend to do it on your own, only the white temple was worth the drive, the rest of the tour was bogus and was nothing to be talked about or to be remembered.Â

We had one day tour to Chiang Rai. We spend hold day and it was raining but it's not our problem
I like the hill tribe village and exciting boat across to Laos market. The price is not so expensive around 1300 THB and we not need to pay extra fee the package also included lunch buffet for us. it' started from Chiang Mai 7.30 AM Till 8.00 PM.

Great organisation and tour guide who made this tour a 2 instead of a 1 out if 5.
Golden triangle totally overrated, nothing to see there and the 'village' over in Laos is nothing other than standard markets selling generic poor quality factory and fake goods.
Hill tribe visits terrible - again just a load of market stalls.
The White Temple was fantastic but our time there was very rushed.
Go with the company for their organisation, but avoid the golden triangle tour. If you do go on it be prepared for a very long day of driving with little excitement at each stop off!

Great day trip out to Doi Inthanon national park! Knowledgeable, friendly & funny guide made it fun & informative. The pagodas and gardens are absolutely stunning! If you are staying in Chiangmai I would highly recommend you take this day trip. The trip was arranged by Travel Hub & run by Journey Tours - best prices, great vale & a pleasure to deal with.

We came across the tour agency by chance while we strolling around in the old city. We had asked around earlier for the price to visit Doi Inthanon. CK Travel Hub offered the day tour at a more affordable rate at 1000 baht per person (for join-in tour). We signed up for the day tour & we were picked up as per the promised time at our hotel the following day. The journey to Doi Inthanon was smooth & we had a wonderful time experiencing the sights of 2 waterfalls & the attractions at the peak of Chiang Mai. The guide, Mr Thaphat was very helpful & friendly. He ensured we are well taken care of & tried to accommodate to our request.
Overall, we had a good time. Thank you CK Travel Hub for making our visit to Doi Inthanon a special & wonderful one!
Should we return to Chiang Mai, we will certainly look you up.. ;)

I had a great time getting to know the city using this tour service! We had an awesome tour guide who showed the most important parts of the city. Would recommend this to anyone who want to get a quick overview of what's to do in Chiang Mai

Hi, we want to book one day tour with thavel hub, but they ask for full payment in advance. We would be more comfortable with some deposit upfront and remaining payment at the end, but they insist on full payment. Does everyone pay upfront? What is our guarantee? What if we need to cancel? Do we loose the fiull payment? Thank you
