We love thai food and really loved learning how to cook here. It felt hygienic and friendly, the ingredients were fresh and we received a recipe book at the end. They were accommodating for us as vegetarians and offered substitutions for fish and meat products. We did a half day and it was plenty of time. You get lots of... More

Wow! This was one of the best days out I have had in a long while. I've always loved eating Thai food, so I thought this visit was time to learn how to cook it myself. I was picked up at my hotel (and brought back to it at the end of the day) and spent the entire day learning... More

If you want to have a good experience for couples it's not the best place: No one told us we should pick the same dishes if we want to be together so we had split since they already arranged the menu we chose earlier.. You have to walk without shoes, the ingredients are already made for you when you start... More

The concept is interesting but doesn't deliver. The class had far too many people in it and was poorly organized. Additionally, there wasn't a lot of learning. There were ants everywhere---In the bathroom, in on the dishes, in the food.

The teaching class was all about how to put as many people as possible. I didn t count but we were probably around 15 people! I did an evening class and we had about 3 different "teachers", changing for every meal. It was very difficult to understand the English of 2 of the teachers.and I had the impression that they... Wow I loved this! I did the half day cooking, morning to 1pm. Got picked up at the hotel, picked up other guests and together we went to a food market. The food market was full of amazing fruit, vegetables, spices and fish/meat! At the market they explained Thai ingredients. Our guide was really funny and kind! We continued to... More

At first we had to wait to be picked up but after a few calls they managed to find us. We visited the market first then was taken back to the cooking class. Very well set up friendly staff. Tutor was great and there are extra staff to help. Lots of food to eat. Well worth the visit.

There are plenty of good cookery schools in Chiang Mai and we chose Baan Thai based on their background of how they came about. Great choice as the experience was brilliant. We chose the evening class (4.30 to 8.30 pm) as I couldn't imagine eating lots of dishes first thing. We were collected on time and picked up 6 others... More

Great teachers and food, worth your time and every penny! The logistics of the class is very well organised: even Swiss and German people would like it! :P
