I find the exhibits of the Thai traditional long skirts interesting, divided into types for the royalties and the non-royalties. There are exhibits on the cultural practices of Lanna people. English explanations available.

I suggest buying the combined ticket which is 180 Baths per person and allowed you to visit three different places. The FolklifeMuseum is the third place, not as good as the two other but still enjoyable and gives you a bit of cultural and historical...More

Disappointing. I think the name of this museum is misleading. It’s largely about Thai Buddhism (perhaps 80%), and there is not much social history. There is a small display of textiles and lacquer-ware upstairs, mainly from the 20th and 19th c. Most of the statues...More

This museum in its walk through format is perhaps the best of the three available in the area and well worth doing early in any trip to Chiang Mai. It explains the historical and cultural basis of the town and the features to be found...More

This museum is the smallest of the complex of three around the square and offers an excellent introduction to the philosophy of Lanna people, the museogaphy is quite modern, information is kept short and artifacts are superb. Nice wooden house as well.

Artefacts are nicely presented and the size of the museum is non too big. A lot of local textiles and other handicrafts are on show.
