It is a park with some nice flowers and some buildings but that's it mainly. Important to know you habe to wear long pants in the garden! Buildings can't be visited.

Reasonable place to putt around. More for those REALLY curious about royal residences. I would liken it to a small park or reserve. Pretty, but no real "wow" to it.

Maybe certain times of year have more gardens in bloom, but in Oct there was absolutely nothing but a few anemic roses and random other flowers. You're apparently not allowed inside any buildings, it's just the grounds that are open to the public. We didn't know that in advance and expected to see inside palace buildings as we really had... Must not be "rose season" as hardly any roses were in bloom so there were not really any "gardens" to see. Much of it was roped off from tourists and even though we were told by 2 different tour operators that we could go inside the palace this was not the case. So we got an outside view of the... More

Take a walk in the gardens of this Royal Palace near Chiang Mai. There are many kinds of roses to admire, but bring your zoom camera as some are farther away from the footpath. Don't forget your hat and sunscreen as it can get very hot and sunny on this mountainside garden.

Enjoyed a nice day walking around the Palace gardens. We were there in November so many of the flowers were out of season. However, there were beautiful orchids and assorted flowers throughout.

Very well organised place. Worth to visit. You can travel inside the gardens and greenhouses in 2 hours or if you love flowers and plants you can spend 8 hours inside them non-boring. ;)

Absolutely lovely gardens with banks of geraniums, lobelia and many many roses. Would be lovely to visit when the roses are in bloom. Take a route off the beaten track and you find delightful stone pathways through the wooded areas with only birdsong and butterflies to accompany you. I bought wonderful jasmine tea grown in the estate as a momento.

A very beautiful place to be with lots of flowers and trees. The entrance fee is cheap at 50 baht. you have a choice of taking the golf carts (400 Baht) or walking. I would prefer walking but I had to take the cart as my mother-in-law couldn't walk that far (about 2 kilometres). We visited the rose gardens, and... More

Rather disappointing as you cannot go inside the residence and I have more roses then they do in my own garden! I guess it's not the rose season right now, but the whole experience was underwhelming. They are very strict on the dress code, even though I was adequately covered (had no issue at the temples) I had to hire... More
