Me and my girlfriend booked this through our hotel and it cost us 500 baht each. It's about a 2 hour trip and worth it! our driver showed us all of the sights along the river and took us to a garden with lots of beautiful plants and animals. We got free fruit and drinks too! Amazing!

It's amazing how quickly you leave the city of Chiang Mai behind as you cruise upriver past nice houses on the city outskirts and into farmland. The cruise stops at a farm (run by the same people as the cruises) where you can see some animals, plants and fruit trees. Some cruises include lunch or dinner here, but all will... More

We went on the 2 hour cruise down the Ping river. The commentary was interesting and in good English. The highlight was stopping at the farm and wandering through the gardens and seeing the animals - rabbits, pigs, fish, frogs etc. We were then provided with fresh water melon and pineapple and a choice of drinks including tamarind which was... This is an excellent way to see another side of Chiang Mai - from the river. We have done river & bay cruises in our native Australia, as well as San Francisco & Thailand (out of Bangkok). Our guide & driver Dome was very personable, knowledgeable, & had extremely good English. This excersion was really good value at 550 baht... More

This was such such a surprise, and such a great way to spend a couple of hours in Chiang Mai. Your hotel will book it for you. You arrive at a little jetty by a temple, pay, and enjoy a large long boat trip on the Mae Ping River to a river 'farm'. Along the way you see many sights... More

On a hot afternoon, it was so pleasant to motor along the Ping River. We travelled a kilometre or so with an extremely articulate and informative boatman called Dome. His English was excellent and colloquial so he readily engaged in conversation rather than just having a set speech. Dome was knowledgeable about the plants and birds along this waterway. The... We loved this! A hot afternoon on the Ping river in a boat with a very happy and instructive pilot/guide. The boat travels a kilometre or two downriver, past luxury houses and hotels and small shacks. At its end you go ashore into a "living museum" of farming - crops flowers and plants alongside chickens and even a wild boar.... More

THB650 well spent: hotel pick-up / drop-off, a two-hour relaxing cruise in a motorboat with a roof so you’re protected from the hot sun, a guide who speaks good English, topped off with a pitstop at a “farmer’s house” where you get to enjoy a sumptuous lunch of local staple Khao Soy (curry noodle), fruit platter, water and herbal tea...
