Though the interior of the bar less trendy, but the bands performance really win all music lovers hearts. I always make sure returning to Saxaphone Pub whenever I travel to Bangkok. Great and consistent performances, better and better towards the end of the night. Servers may seem cold to foreign customers maybe because of language barrier, but they're actually very thoughtful, they tried to move us few times without being asked until we got the perfect seat to enjoy the live band! 👍♥️🌹Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 19 November 2023

The hot big band on Wednesday and Thursday nights were amazing. The atmosphere was very good too. Food & drink is reasonable, and delicious, about same prices as a good hotel. There were singers, guitarists, trumpets, saxaphones, drums, etc, very professional. Given the glowing reviews, I went here with high anticipation, and left very disappointed. I did not try the food, so I have no thoughts on that. I agree with those who have commented that bar set up is very nice. But it kind of went downhill after that. Maybe it was an off night, but the band was very mediocre, as was the lead singer. I only stayed for one set so maybe the next band would have been better The eight dollar drinks though were weak and the service on this particular night was nothing short of horrendous. The place was crowded so apparently others would disagree, and probably had better experiences than me. I just could not get past the lousy service and the poor drinks. I haven’t had much better experiences throughout Bangkok and other Thai cities.

Five stars for music and atmosphere. One star for food.
This place has great character and serves a good range of drinks at fair prices. The band we saw was excellent. Quite loud (too loud to talk)if you were downstairs, but we went upstairs where it was quieter. Really interesting and quirky place.
The let down was the food. We ordered three Thai dishes - each of which was disappointing.
My suggestion would be to go for the experience, music and drinks...then enjoy some street food.

I decided to visit the Saxaphone pub in Victory monument. It was a very good experience. The atmosphere was very good too. Enjoy our time with the live jazz band, performances were great and moving.
The stage is not at its best planned position but hey, the performance was definitely fun and enthusiastic.
Tips: ignore the layout of the pub and focus on the music. Otherwise go ya earlier before shows starts to have the best seats.

Been around for so long now and I make it a point to visit everytime. Do it on a Thursday night when the Big Band plays. They are simply brilliant. The interiors are all dated but the service, food and ambience cover up. The vibe is brilliant. Service is also attentive and fast.

Sadly, long gone are the days of a great blues band 9-11.30pm followed by the Rhythm Nation Band which got everyone going.
Now most of the music is jazz, funk, reggae etc which isn't for me at all.
The one exception is a blues band on a Friday which ought to be the very good advertised Papa Benz and the Blues Machine but too often it is a different band with no warning.
The last time is was a very bland and boring band playing blues by number with the same style for every song so they all sounded the same.
For the first time in over 20 years of going there I didn't stay till the end of the set.
So disappointing.

I like to come here, been here many times. Music and service are usually good. Food used to be good, but was a big disappointment today. The fried dried beef was very chewy and the portion smaller than usual. The chicken wings looked more like pigeon wings (almost no meat), and the “Chinese sausage” contained no meat, it was some kind of fried dough. They said it’s not supposed to have meat. I guess they think if they call something Chinese, it is supposed to be fake or what? Then I showed them Google’s search results for “Chinese sausage”, which are all pictures of real sausages. They were not happy, but agreed to take it back and not charge for it. In the future I will eat elsewhere before I come here.

Agree with the others that earlier might be best if you want to bring a child - the music is not so loud and jarring. Also - there may not be baby-chairs to safely put the child in the tight cramped spaces.

They will be bored. The setup of this place is a typical pub. The main focus here is the music. Hope this helps.

이곳이 분위기는 캐주얼하지만 손님도 꽤 많고 상당히 정교하게 준비된 레퍼토리를 이어가며 분위기를 이끌어 갑니다. 합주를 하실려면 즉홍적으로 시도하기 보다는 공연시작 전에 미리 헙의를 해 두어야 할 것으로 보입니다. 그나저나 프런트맨의 관객과 호흡하는 솜씨가 대단하네요. 한국에서 찾아오는 손님이 많은것을 고려해서 노래중에 원더걸스나 슈퍼주니어 노래를 순간적으로 매쉬업해서 관객들의 호응이 터지는 것을 보았습니다.

Hi there,
There's a corkage price if you want to bring your own drinks, a bottle of champagne for ex.
Drinks are not overpriced, especially considering the quality of the entertainment. It's a very special place. Unique.
Food is good too.

I want to make a booking online but according to the contact page on which it's stated "Reservation Policy : We accept only daily reservation and claim your table before 9.00pm. Please fill in your name, phone number, number of guests per a table, date and time of arrival", does it mean that I cannot make an online booking until that day?
Can I make a reservation by phone a few days earlier before my dinner date?

They have an upper floor which is always available. If you don't go on a weekend with more than 4 people you can be relaxed. On the upper floor will ALWAYS be a free table for you. There you will have a better view to the stage than one of the tables in the corner near the men toilet.
