Rewarding destination, but frustrating too

Beautiful and quiet little island that you can reach by boat from the green flag piers in Bangkok in about an hour. Beware though as I discovered there was no green flag boats on Sunday, which made the excursion a little bit more complicated (boat to Nonthaburi, then bus 32, then boat to cross over to the island). Nice little... More

My wife, stepson, and I paid our second visit to Koh Kred today, four years after we first went there. This time we took along my wife's best friend, as well as our handyman and our dog. Here's what was positive about our visit. It was a special "Buddha Day" (they occur about once a month) and we went to... More

We rented the bicycle as we thought there would be nice view for explore but no. The surrounding was messy and the market was busy if you go during weekends. The products they sell there were not all good quality.

Disappointed and surprised to be informed by ticket vendors at Nonthaburi that the 100 THB long tail boat service to the island has already finished at 3:00 pm today, but that they are happy to sell me an 800 THB ticket for a small private taxi boat! Can this be correct?

Koh Kred, the special cultural area for whoever like Mon folkways. It's locate at Pak-kred, Pathumthani provicne which isn't far from Bangkok and travellers can visit by bus, van or boat, both in private rental or public service. There are many homestays and hostels which isn't expensive. The cost living at Koh Kred is still cheap, worth to spend your... More

This is a very sleepy island with not much going on, but its a great escape from the city on the river. For us the highlight was a small craft brewery called Chit Beer. They are right down the path from the temple in new digs that is a white building that stands out like a thumb hit with a... More

We took a Tuk Tuk, Water Taxi and speedy 4 person long boat to arrive on this sleepy island. Mid week was a nice time to visit. We rented bikes and road around the island. Visited the artist colony , saw their talents, brick kilns... small souvenir pots with bowls 3 x $100B. Very nice time. It would have been... More
