On top of Bangkok

Definitely worth visiting, but go after dark: the view over the town is great, the drinks expensive but good

Have been to a few rooftop bars in Bangkok and this is the best. The city views are absolutely amazing.

Stayed in a two bed suite which was amazing, with views to die for 😉 Fresh fruit, washing machine, gratis fridge stocked with cans, water etc. Dinner at the sirroco is something else, but sooo expensive.

The skybar at Lebua is fantastic and I was surprised by the good selection of wines offered. There is no charge for going up to the skybar but the bar prices are expensive so make a good choice and take your time to enjoy the fantastic view and crowd. The restaurant has a good kitchen but a better idea is... More

State Tower is one of the tallest building Bangkok. My highly recommend in this tower is sky bar . The view is the best and price bit expensive. But it is worth well.

Sirocco is top on my recommended list of places for visitors to go to when they come to Bangkok. The wide grand staircase winding down to the Air Bar makes for a spectacular entrance and a breathtaking view of Bangkok skyline. Go at 6pm when they open, to see the city just before the sun goes down and stay until... More

A must do, fantastic views and the set of a Hollywood blockbuster, the drinks are on the steep side but the views are worth it.

A place with a beautiful view of the city! And if you like the movie the hangover, then it is a must visit. The drinks are a bit expensive, but you are paying for the view as well

The top of the State Tower has two great restaurants and a bar. Reservations are required at the two restaurants: Sirocco (Medeteranian) and Mezzaluna (Italian), we ate at Mezzaluna, the food was good if sparse (tastings). The view of Bangkok is phenomenal in all directions.

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
