A great and wonderful palace to see when it is nice and quiet. Most of the time there are lots of people here everyday visiting but when you can see it on a reasonably quiet day it is a most humbling experience...

The Grand Palace was crowded, we did manage to get in and look around, impressive once in. Lots of Temples and shrines, places selling stuff, food can be brought at stalls.

It is really The Royal Grand Palace. What a beauty, and beside its beauty the people are just genuine.

The grounds are amazing, but to walk around is a nightmare. Strickt dresscode and millions of people. It is almost impossible to enjoy the beauty of it. The admission fee is high.

Like most of these places it is best to go with a guide who can take you through in a systematic manner and explain all the nuances. This was a first stop and helped us understand the culture.

The temples were outstanding to see. Such different architecture. We arrived early but there are still a lot of people. By the time we left you could hardly move.

The fee of entrance is a bit expensive but worth it. You should wear long clothes or otherwise security might not let you in. Temple is very cool. Gardens are beautiful as well. Would recommend visiting.

While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok,
it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn
the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and
most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to
this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off
their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most
spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to
Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around

The maps are very helpful for choosing hotels nearby. Personally, we like the Novatel Chain. There are 8 in Bankgkok offering clean, comfortable, quiet hotels that also offer a full buffet breakfast.
