Our hotel was on this busy road and it is extremely entertaining. It runs parallel to the river so there’s all the benefits that that brings.

The road itself is extremely busy so take care crossing. It is lined with shops of all types, bars and restaurants.

There are also loads of food courts which serve delicious street food at very reasonable prices. We really enjoyed this area of Bangkok.

Really great Neighborhood along the Chao Praya River. Many Shops, 2 well stocked 7-11’s, a River Ferry Stop, and good restaurants. Soi Rambuttri also has many shops and restaurants as well. Stayed at Chillax Heritage Hotel (Wonderful) and really enjoyed Hemlock Restaurant. Quiet and convenient to many tourist sights.

We wondered the street for about one hour and really enjoyed all the little shops and restaurants all around. Definitely not as busy and crowded as other mshkr streets in Bangkok.

I consider it a bit of a joke reviiewing what is in essence just a Bangkok street. The only distinction is that it runs between the madness of Khao San Road near to and parallel to the Chao Praya River. On the inner side are all the usual tourist guesthouses, restaurants and massage parlors. On the river side are pricey hotels and restaurants with waterfront views. Of real interest here is mainly the street’s access to Pier 13 Phra Athit and it’s lead in to Phra Sumen Fort and park. Tip: Rather than walking on this busy, noisy street walk to the back corner of the park and walk along the river boardwalk. That is immeasurably more pleasant.

Most travellers who reside in the Kaosan area know this road as they have to cross it to reach the Phra Athit jetty (boat to Bangkok's new center). The road is not an average Bangkok road as over the years many businesses geared to tourists have opened here. Still also locals visit and live at Athit road. There are some bars with live-music Asians like. No hard-rock, disco or rap like on Kaosan, but more quiet and sophisticated music. At the far (northern) end near Sumen fort there is a park right on the river bank. Towards the south there is Pinklao bridge from which there are nice views over the river.

There’s lots to do here. From stylish restaurants and art galleries, old fort, public park and easy access to the Chao Phraya River Express Boat.

Great for a walk along in the daytime as the shops provide shade form the blistering sun. Find yourself a coffee shop with a view of the River.

Lots of different restaurants from local Thai cuisine to Vietnamese and European food.

Whenever we are in Bangkok we aim for this street as it has everything. We always choose our hotel around it as it has real character and something for everyone.

There are lots of really good restaurants here specialising in their own dishes. There are some terrific bars as well with live bands on and some very interesting and unique shops.

Staying at the New Siam 11 gives you great access to food. The best place for soup (Thai style Vietnamese soup) is Khun Deng Guay Jub Yuan. It is always packed. They also do a great Chinese sausage salad.

This street takes you back in time. You can only see these type of old colonial buildings along this street and streets around here.
