This is a place we almost visit on every trip to Bangkok
We took the MRT to Kamphaeng Phet station on a Saturday morning to visit Chatuchak Weekend Market (locally known as Jatujak Market), one of the world‘s largest market. We bought clothes, accessories, etc, and had coconut ice cream, and finally left in the late afternoon. So far, this is a place we almost visit on every trip to Bangkok that crossed into a weekend. We will pick up stuff on every visit and definitely worth a visit.

    Good place to shopping
I loved that vendors don’t haggle or you are constantly pushed to visit a stall. I’m visiting this place whenever I’m in Bangkok. Another thing I genuinely appreciate is presence of numerous food stalls selling variety of foods suitable for all taste buds.

A highly recommended weekend market to visit
Our must go place during the weekend is Chatuchak market. Highly recommended to go early so it is not so hot. The place is huge and be prepared to be sweaty and sticky shopping around.. there’s now a new mall that’s open right next to the market. A new alternative to cool down after being hot outside the market :)

A really fun adventure but it is crowded and hot so prepare yourselves. There are hundreds of stalls selling all sorts of things, both great and not so great, but it’s all about the experience here at this huge weekend market in Bangkok. Tip: Visit early and leave before it becomes repetitive.

    Massage everywhere
I thought the massage here was already cheap, but eventually found massage centres nearby Pratunam is cheaper by 50 baht. But it was good tho! Lively atmosphere. The muslim halal shop which sells nasi berlauk was yummsss too! My fav store must be 249 Nature, I bought their lavender scent, so lovely.

Well worth the time! Not a wasted second.
Yes, hundreds get off every train, but it is not crowded inside. My advice, if you have time is to pace yourself. There are hundreds of vendors, many selling similar items, look around and ask for best price, haggle if you must. I went to see what was there, it has just about everything for the tourist and local alike. Take the Skytrain, it is airconditioned.

Super crowded market but it’ll give you a great a real market experience
HUGE markets with plenty of stalls. We spent about 4 hours and didn’t even see 1/3 of the stalls. You can find everything your heart desire. We found weird and wonderful things in our this market. We truly enjoyed our experience here. Highly recommended place to visit if you are in Bangkok. And get your bargaining skill ready for this market. You’ll need it!

Will never return as long as there is exploitation of poor animals. Saw the poor conditions when I was there. Puppies woken up from nap by the staff by poking when someone looks from the window. Why? To show off the cuteness to potential buyers. Lack of water supply in many cages. Why? Cleaning up is a hassle. Puppies and dogs panting in the warm condition even with air-conditioning. Seeing the latest news of the fire that killed over 1000 animals. This is the ultimatum for me. It is depressing for anyone who has a basic and decent empathy for animals. Please look beyond the cuteness appearance and think deeper into the living conditions and the exploitation behind.

Very much a touristy location. Literally too many stalls to see them all, and a little confusing to navigate, but know that the food is typically along the outside of the main maze of stalls. The vendors were surprisingly low pressure and the goods were very inexpensive. I didn't make it to the animal portion (and I'm glad I didn't, based on some of the reviews). Taking home a few cool souvenirs and a story!

The animal section ruined the entire experience. It is totally heartbreaking. The cruelty these animals are experiencing is truly shocking. Avoid spending your money in this entire market.

Great market with nice selection of items for sale. Not all the typical tourist trinkets but some nice items including ceramics.

Been twice, most recently in April 2024 and previously in Aug 2023. It’s our favourite market. Can buy anything and everything. Shame they have all the animals on sale but we didn’t see that first time around just second time. Great food court, some of our best food in Bangkok was the indoor food court upstairs. Definitely recommend. Don’t go early Friday it doesn’t open properly until evening. Saturday it’s very hot and busy from first thing in the morning.

Visited Chatuchak Weekend Market recently and fell in love with its lively atmosphere and variety. Planning another trip in Oct. The market's energy, diverse offerings, and friendly vendors make it a must-visit destination in Thailand.

Its a wonderful well organised market with affordable and better quality products. A must visit if you have time. They dont bargain much as products are placed at wholesale price.

Amazing market where family can buy anything and everything. Kids love it too. But you should stay way from that part if you are an animal lover. Many puppies, kittens, etc. are locked in small, packed cages.
