Of Sukhumvit which is huge I have been on the lower part (from soi 2 till Ekamai). The area is very well connected as it has the Skytrain, the tube and several bus routes. From Sukhumvit it is very easy to reach a lot of points in Bangkok (bus station, airport, railway station...) This is also a great place for... More

Right place for staying, shopping, eating, having fun... Excellent communications by public transportation (BTS) and everything you need. Even a couple of art places worth the visit are close by, like Jim Thompson house and museum.

My favourite area of Bangkok hands down. Best restaurants & the best streetfood for me. Obviously its a bit smelly but that just adds to its craziness

"Sukhumvit" is the name of a very long road. It's called just "Sukhumvit" - no "road" or “soi". In Bangkok it is a six-lane, with very few crossing bridges, most of them skytrain stations. Crossing the actual road on foot is an offence except for the Soi 4 junction. Walking towards Cambodia, even-numbered roads are on the right, odd ones... More

Great area to stay in Bangkok. Plenty of shop's, resturant's, bars and hotels all around. Handy to the Sky Train and Metro Subway. Also many taxi's and tuk tuks available. Soi Cowboy here for some fun and excitement too.

This was my favorite area of Bangkok. If you like modern mall shopping with all the best designers boutiques and tons of restaurant choices, this is the place for you! This is the hipster high end part of town, more modern and sophisticated.

We stayed in a suite hotel off of Sukhumvit road. Side streets are quiet but the main road is mad busy, area is very varied from good class hotels to cheap and cheerful hostels. Lots of eating options and loads of small supermarkets and some street vendors, mostly at night. Traffic and sky train can be very noisy but make... More

Summit is probably the busiest steel outside the city centre. it goes on for miles east to West and is access to everything from fabulous hotels and malls to the bars of the nightlife.

A great area to stay in if you are visiting Bangkok, it is central, has great access to both the MRT and BTS transport systems as well as shopping and everything else you might be interested in in Bangkok

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
