A very busy place. Colorful. There is so much to see. I like Chinatowns. And Chinese food. It's well worth a visit to come here.

I walked the streets of Bangkok’s Chinatown when the Lunar New Year celebrations were underway. Some of the side-streets, were jammed with a mix of locals and sightseers. In many ways, it is a typical overseas Chinatown. Well worth visiting for sightseeing and shopping for interesting inexpensive gadgets and knockoffs of expensive goods.

What fun! I love going to Chinatown each time I visit Bangkok. And it is everything you have ever heard about it -- colorful, crowded, noisy, and sensor overload! And the food is amazing! You will find street vendors selling anything you might be hungry for, you'll discover some fabulous sit down restaurants, plus you will also discover the areas where people and restaurant owners come to buy their goods for the day. Talk about fresh food! And I guarantee you will see food items that you have no idea what they are or how to prepare them.
Chinatown is unbelievable and a delight to visit, as long as you're not claustrophobic as some of the little streets and alleyways become quite congested. Everyone shares the walk areas -- pedestrians, scooters, Grab delivery drivers, delivery people trying to get more product to the vendor -- it gets crowded! Might be best to avoid weekends the first time you visit.
There are tourist sites within walking distance of Chinatown and you can visit the area using the MRT train system or Chao Phraya Tourist Boat.
Go with an open mind, embrace the chaos, and have fun! You came to Bangkok for a new experience! Chinatown is amazing to visit both during the day and at night.

Utterly overwhelming- London or Manchester China town on speed with about 4 people per square meter.
Roads manic and difficult to cross, pavements packed and for me just way too much to take in and really not worth it.

Wonderfully busy street with so many restaurants, shops and street food vendors. Amazing food on offer and a vast array of people from all over the world. If you don’t like busy streets and need your personal spaces than this location won’t suit you.

One of the best things when you at Bangkok. Recommend to go during evening so you can try one of the best seafood restaurants which open only at the evening. Very chaotic but think that you must visit when you around.

Hectic, exciting and a must see if in Bangkok. Lots of great food to try and atmosphere is really fun. Try and get a tuk tuk along the main strip would be a recommendation from me.

This bustling neighborhood of Bangkok is full of all sorts of interesting places to see and foods to try. The lights are reminiscent of Times Square and the stores are bright and lively, and there are big crowds of people packed into small sidewalks. There are also a lot of carts selling street food that includes everything from calamari to roti to pad Thai. The smells are overwhelming and can be off-putting to the sensitive palate, and if you don’t eat seafood or meat, then you will have a very hard time finding somewhere to eat. Also, be wary if you don’t like crowds; this place is really busy.

Hi, I was wondering if there is any where in China town to take classes ie. soap making, tai chi and the like. Also, I know they sell things from all over and there was something I used in Turkey many years ago, but, don't remember the name. When you went to someone's house they would hand you a tall bottle of a lemon scented liquid and it was used to freshen arms and hands. Does anyone know what it is called or where I can get it?

Hi, I'm not sure soap-making and Tai-chi are unique to Thailand. But there are many classes available such as muay thai, & Thai cooking. You can google Thai experiences or speak to your hotel concierge to find out details. I'm sorry, I've been to Thailand several times in the last 20-30 years, but I have no experience with the lemon scented liquid. Are they by any chance hand sanitizers?

How to go to china town from sukmaviti soi 22 bangkok?

Forgotten to add that the cost should not exceed 100B by BTS or MTR then by Bike.
If you take the cab during off peak hours its less than 100B. Chinatown market and most food stalls opens from 6.30am onwards and tech shops starts to set up by 7.30am. Its a huge place to walk: Wet Market, children and household stuff such as soft toys, toiletries, bedding items etc. Another area has whole sale sunglasses and electronic items for phones, headphone, speaker, cables etc etc then there are industrial stuff and home appliances and lastly, anything you are looking for to decorate or add on to cars/bikes/trucks etc. It will be a good 6 hours walk, view, see, eat and rest! enjoy!
Is China Town's close time is 17:00? I thought this is a night place :((
