It's one of the closest "floating" markets we can find online so we decided to go with it. It's about a 30 minutes drive from the city and we spent around 2 hours here.
Commercialized but there are many good local food here in one place. Not much of a floating market because they are all on the platform, you can only get perhaps some fresh food on boat, but you can take a boat ride around the quaint canal neighborhood. There are some live music when we were there. Prices for food here are definitely cheaper than the city – fresh coconut from 20baht.
We opted for a private boat ride at 400baht. It took us around the canal homes, but we made some stops at a small temple (with some food), and a small coffee house with an orchid farm.
Recommended for most travelers, young and old may have trouble with getting on and off the board that's all.

An insight to how things must have been in years gone by, blended with a tourist construct to make it a commercial.opportunity.

Fun & interesting! I’m glad we went. It’s sad to see how much it has suffered from COVID but it won’t improve unless people start going again. We had a great time & the food was delicious. Enjoyed seeing some of the older houses along the canal as well!

Seller was selling rotten fruit. Went back to try and return the item, he was making it out as if it was my fault and was initially willing to refund 50% of the purchase cost.
After a lot of time passed he then offered back 150 baht from the original 200 baht stating that he can’t resell it and therefore would be making a lost!!
Who in their right mind and ethical would try to resell rotten food to other buyers?
I’m sorry I was the one that was making a lost and it had made the whole experience really negative for my party and me.
Everyone worked hard to earn a living, and for tourists these are our hard earned money which we want to enjoy using when on holiday but to be ripped off regardless of the amount is not a pleasant experience.
I would certainly won’t be going back, if one seller can blatantly say that about wanting to resell rotten food then what about other sellers? I wouldn’t be taking that risk since there are plenty of other markets to visit in and around Bangkok

Khlong Lat Mayom is a medium-sized floating market located really close to Bangkok. It's a really local market and you might be one of the very few foreigners around. The main market itself. I paid 8 Thousand Baht for private boat around 222 $. The tour
was too boring and waste of time because the market not like the past full of
people selling on the boats ,now the people sell the products between zones and
the price too high and most of the product low quality.
In my opinion do wate your time and money in this trip, If you looking for Floating Market visit the floating market close to Pattaya .

I thought this was awful…. Nothing like the photos and genuinely could not believe this was a top rated experience. It cost us 1500 bht each for an hour and it was an utter rip off. Quite simply taken from stall to stall selling the same old Chinese crap…. It became embarrassing and I asked to be taken back early. Admittedly this was low season so the experience might be different when busier. Huge dissatisfaction on my account….. lacked any atmosphere and felt very fake.

It is only 30-40 mins from central Bangkok. It is opened during weekends 8.00-17.00 but most of food stalls are shut at 15.00... I reckon you come here before 10am just to avoid the crowd and easy to find parking space/dining table. It is pretty busy after 11am.
You can buy food and sit anywhere you want. Try to get tables near the canal for floating market atmosphere. More food at the market on the left side from market entrance. The one on the right side is smaller.
Long Tail Boat trips are available for shared and private boat. I have eaten a lot of food and bought some clothes from here. Polite and kind local people tho. Highly recommended,

A nice floating market in the suburbs of the city in Taling Chan It is a market that is convenient to travel. It doesn't take long also experience the lifestyle of the waterfront community in a chill atmosphere There are many DIY-style chic products for sale, most importantly, they are also famous for delicious food. There are many to choose from. both OTOP products both traditional sweet and savory items that are hard to find.

There are several floating markets in Bangkok, but I recommend this place because of its location and well-organized. Beautiful old-day atmosphere.
Having a bunch of handmade stuff, plenty of local foods & desserts and lovely boat tour activity.
A long-tailed boat tour will take about 90 mins (round trip). The ticket price is around 100 baht/person.

Wanting to visit in January 2020, but can only visit on a weekday. I’m seeing mixed reviews that say it’s open all days and others say it is open on weekends only. Does anyone know their hours and days open?

How long is a shared boat trip? How long is a private boat trip?

The shared boat trip was about and hour or and hour. They take you through the little canals and then you stop at a flower farm for a bit and then they bring you back.
Not sure about the private one but I bet it’s about the same. There’s not much more to see.

Visited on a Sunday in October (20th). Anyone know why there were no floating boats selling goods on the day? Just the indoor market.

I see private tours are 400 baht for 40 minutes. Is it an option to just pay to rent your own boat? There are 6 of us. Or do you need to hire the driver? If we take our own without a private tour, how long do we have it for? Thank you!

You can rent a boat with a private driver if you want. Unfortunately, I don't know how many people can get on. Everyone there is really nice and speak basic English. You can easily ask when you get there. I recommend that you take a Grab.

I want to do this trip and combine it with a visit to Koh Sarn Chao. Is it easy to get a boat from the floating market to there. I’m travelling on my own and an organised trip needs 2people...the price for one person is £150 English pounds ....I know I can do it for much less. An answer would be appreciated. Thanks

There are freelance longtail boatmen at Klong Lat Mayom who can take you anywhere, as long as they do not have to enter the major canals. Traffic in the major canals is partially restricted because it's used by public transport boats.
So you'll have to bargain a price on the spot with a local boatman.

Will this floating market be open on the 13th April (1st day of Songkran)?
If so will it involve lots of dirty water being thrown about?
Thanks

This is the only floating market that is actually open on all days. We went there on a holiday too.
