I went to the shrine because I was staying at the Swissotel Nai Lert. Lots of websites say it is behind the hotel, however it has now moved to the historic house next to the hotel. I accessed the shrine through the hotel but the hotel is closing on 4 January 2017. So you will have to access it through Nai Lert Park historic house.

Small and hard to find but worth a short visit. Ask the guards at the hotel gate and they point at round the corner 15 meters away :)

Chao Mae Tuptim Shrine (ศาลเจ้าแม่ทับทิม) is one little shrine within the compound of Swissotel Nai Lert Park, along Khlong Saen Saeb (Saen Saeb Canal), that would surely attract female tourists and locals as it's the place to pray for fertility and luck. Of course, the main attraction would be the phallic gifts of all shapes and sizes.
Unless you have enough time in your hands, the holy shrine could be a bit out of the way from all the main attractions in Bangkok. The easiest way to locate the shrine is via BTS Phloen Chit. From there, look out for the sign towards Nai Lert Park. Walk down the stairways and head towards the Wave Place. Turn right into Witthayu Road and walk about 10-15 minutes all the way to Swissotel which is on your left. Enter the main entrance of the hotel and walk towards the car parking bay at the back of the hotel. Do not go out into the car park. At the entrance of the car park, turn right and walk towards another building. Walk under the building and you can see the shrine on the left. Currently the shrine is under renovation but you can still see some of the phallic items on the "under the tree" altar.
Since this is a secluded attraction, I would advise you to seek out the next attraction which would be the Saen Saeb Canal boat taxi. Upon exiting the hotel at the main road, turn left and walk about 5-10 minutes and you can see a sign for Wireless Pier on the left under the bridge. Wait for the boat taxi heading to your left. My next destination was Platinum Mall at Pratunam Pier. Upon going on board, the ticket collection will collect THB9 from you. Upon reaching Pratunam Pier, just walk up the stairs and you can see Platinum Mall right across the road. That would save you lots of sweat and energy right? :)

My wife and I visited the temple and she left an offering. We're not sure of the exact night of conception, but it was possibly the very first night. Now we owe this place a penis.

With the move to Nai Lert Park Heritage home, there has been a significant downgrade in the amount of phalluses. I visited 13 years ago and my wife was pregnant the month after the trip, coincidence maybe. Fun story to tell definitely
I wouldn’t visit again as it all seems a bit “flaccid” now

They moved the shrine and in doing so removed about 90% of the...um...imagery. Really there's not much to see here at ALL...definitely not worth the wild goose chase it takes to find the place (all the while looking like a perverted traveler desperately seeking out the penis shrine...).

It's just one of Bangkok's interesting attractions, and surprisingly easy to find - it's just to the right of the hotel, though it's not immediately visible from the street. Get some selfies, but take care not to disrupt the site.

The hotel where the shrine is located has been purchased by a hospital. The countless penises are missing, except for a few, including a red monkey saddled up for action. A haunting red dress sways on the tree, and a few other phallic relics. This is sad as it was one of the best shrines in the city.

If you're in the ultra-modern Chit Lom area and want to take an unexpected historical break, this is the perfect shrine. Where else can you find so many wooden penises? It's definitely a unique spot to take a break from the heat in the shade of the trees alongside the khlong!

It's my birthday. As a gift, S offers to help me locate the penis shrine. I didn't have any luck the last time I went looking for the place, but S manages to find it hidden behind the Swissôtel, not far from a loading dock where a couple of the kitchen staff are carving ice sculptures with a chain saw.
The penises, hundreds of them tied with bows or draped with necklaces, are stacked in big shameless piles next to the canal. The origins of the shrine are murky. It seems to have been the creation of a Thai businessman who used to own the property back in the early years of the 20th century.
Besides the carved penises that come in a variety of styles and sizes, visitors have left behind all sorts of offerings: bowls of fruit, bottles of red Fanta soda, and even a few elegant silk dresses in plastic dry cleaning bags hung from the banyan trees. I read that the shrine is dedicated to Chao Mae Tuptim, an ancient tree spirit who specializes in human reproduction. A good number of the folks who visit the shrine are couples hoping to get pregnant.
S and I spend a while in this little garden of penises. Once we've gotten the dumb jokes out of our system, I begin to appreciate the loveliness of the spot, and the earnestness of all these phalluses, each one a little prayer.

Re: penis shrine. Do you know what are the days it is open and what are the hours it is open?
