About
ASIATIQUE The Riverfront is an open-air mall that offers a dynamic combo of shopping, dining, sightseeing, and events—with scenic river views to boot. Here, you can pop into a large variety of shops selling clothes, souvenirs, bags, and more; sample authentic Thai cuisine at the night market; enjoy live music performances; and take a ride on the ferris wheel or carousel. You can even catch the Calypso cabaret and watch a Muay Thai fight. It’s best to get here via the free daily shuttle boat from Pier Sathorn as taxis and tuktuks (Thailand's three-wheeled open-air vehicles) encounter frequent traffic jams. – Tripadvisor

    Awesome evening
One must visit this place during early evening and enjoy the ferris wheel ride. However I feel the price is a little steep. A great place to buy souvenirs and there are many dining options. I suggest if you plan to visit asiatique then plan a visit to iconsiam mall the same day morning. Then you save your travel time and taxi fare. As taxi fares are quiet a spend as all of them refuse to go by meter.

Upscale Shopping Mall by the River
We arrived there by riverboat. It was quite modern and resembled a theme park. Lots of orchestrated music like you would hear at Universal Studios or Disneyland. But the shops were not so interesting for us. Lots of cheap tourist souvenirs and over priced. Most of the restaurants had menus that were also quite expensive for us. We ended up eating at a small restaurant booth that had Pad Thai and other less expensive foods.

    Strange
Asiatique is on the opposite side of the river of our hotel we took a ferry over to visit the night market. It has a bustling atmosphere in places and yet there is something missing. Difficult to describe but it is not that easy to structurally enjoy the shopping or dining options.

    Disappointing
Free boat from Sathorn Pier near the Saphan Taksin BTS. Heaving at night but dead during the day when at least 90% of it is closed. Would I visit here again? Only if I had to come here to get a boat for a river cruise. Most things for sale in the shops here are generally available elsewhere.

Don’t ride the Ferris wheel if it has been raining!
Fun place to look around, shop for souvenirs, take a boat ride, eat and drink. There’s a huge Ferris wheel there, but it had just been raining. They don’t wipe off the windows after the rain, so you can’t get any photos without drops. I tried to suggest they wipe off the windows that face the river, but they didn’t even make eye contact. I was surprised since most people there seemed to be Instagram photo takers!

    One time visit to Asiatique
Must visit with family. Though the street style experience is created it still is like a mall. Go there in a river cruise ferry boat in 20 Baht from Vat Arun Temple.

Thumbs up for a different type of night market experience
We had limited time in Bangkok on this visit and I am so pleased that we managed to fit in a visit to Asiatique one night. My only disappointment - I would have liked more time there before it started closing but we only got there after 10pm. We enjoyed the different 'market' style shopping (pricing seemed fair), and went on the Ferris wheel for a view over the river and the night lights. There are restaurants, the haunted castle and different sections to explore / shop. I would definitely return on a future visit to Bangkok, for the different character the place evokes, especially if they have more projects / exhibitions (there had recently been a Disney one.)

    Yeah, no
Asiatique feels a bit old and tired. Many many stores are closed. Those that are open are often selling merchandise which is much more expensive than other places around Bangkok such as MBK. Interesting for a short visit but if you are lacking time in fabulous Bangkok I wouldn’t bother.

A great place to watch the sun go down
This is a great place to watch the sun go down while enjoying a drink and something to eat. Getting there by river boat is easy and there is plenty to see and do there. We are at the Happy Fish and it was pretty good, especially the ice cream cone at the end of our meal which we ate on the boat ride back.

Stunning location and fun night out
Beautiful place to spend the night with bright lights and a good combination of restaurants, entertainment and shopping. Some market type shops are very competitively priced. Restaurants are a little expensive but worth the visit for the live entertainment and people watching. Also great that the free ferry runs quite late

Asiatique: The Riverfront is a large open-air mall in Bangkok, Thailand. It occupies the former docks of the East Asiatic Company, and faces the Chao Phraya River and Charoen Krung Road. The complex opened in 2012 after extensive renovation of the site

Asiatique Riverfront in Bangkok is a popular shopping and entertainment complex located along the Chao Phraya River. It features a wide range of shops, restaurants, bars, and entertainment options, including a large Ferris wheel offering stunning views of the city. It's a great place to explore both during the day and at night.

Asiatique The Riverfront. As the name suggests it is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya river and previously served as a warehouse for the East Asiatic Company (EAC).

We had a delightful evening meal at this restaraunt in the Asiatique river front shopping complex called Sawatdee.
The food was superb. From Crispy Pork to Tom Yum to Penang Curry to say the least some of the best Thai food we have had on this trip.
The servings were plentiful and very fair pricing.
The Mango smoothies also were Yummy.
One small issue. We were charged for ice in one of our drinks. That seemed a bit strange. Just the same we would definitely come here again.
The complex also much better organised than last time a year ago we visited. Well done to the owners managers and team. Its a lot better.

Used to be the place for shopping. Covid killed it. Lots of eateries. Most picture perfect spot overlooking chao Phraya riverfront. Lost its overall charm with tourist though, now you see mostly domestic tourists.

Its a shopping mall, but outside so its hot. The ferry from Saphan Taksin BTS to the venue was the best part for the great views. Inside Asiatique I found lots of the vendors to be too aggresive. The food is substantially marked up from other places. Once the sun is down the river front areas were absolutely PACKED with crowds waiting to get on the river cruise boats, which made the line for the free boat back to the BTS a bit of a mess.

A pleasant location to visit. When I got there in the evening, it wasn't that busy. There are a few taverns, a restaurant, and sheltered retail stores.

I first visited this riverside market in late 2019, and I visited again in March 2024. It shows that the pandemic did a number on small businesses. As a number of posters have said, half the shops are closed. That said, there is still a critical mass of shops (not an over abundance), and there are hordes of eateries. The place comes alive beginning at dusk. Don’t go out of your way to visit. But if you have some spare time, it’s worth a couple of hours one evening. It’s a particularly good market if you have children.
