Top ways to experience Union Mall and nearby attractions

The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Chatuchak
Every weekend, thousands of tourists make their way up to this Northern Bangkok suburb to get lost in an enormous maze of shops at the Chatuchak Weekend Market. Home to almost 10,000 vendors, you’ll find everything from vintage sneakers to comic books and Thai handicrafts being sold here. You name it, Chatuchack probably sells it. The market is a great place to pick up souvenirs, but be sure to bargain for a good price. After a day of shopping and strolling around, the lush green lanes of Chatuchak Park are a welcome relief.

A Small must not be missed when you visit Bangkok!!
Take a MRT train to Phahon Tothin Exit 5 and the mall is on your left side. 7 level of shops, it is not as crowded as Pratunam Mall and their clothes is definately cheaper, if you get 3pcs will be even cheaper. I personally feel the sale personnel at Union Mall is much more friendly than at Pratunam area. If you have the time you could visit this mall and visit JJ Green Market in the evening which is one station away. Add-on - There is a stall selling slice strip pork outside Exit 5 was so delicious. You could give it a try if you are there about 20-25baht (S$1.25)

Conveniently close to the train station and a fresh location to shop
Visited twice within 6months. This union mall seems to host events as well. This month would be the anime festival or something and I got to see the younger generation of Thai people at play. Shopping wise, I feel that this place provided more value for money as compared with platinum mall. Highly recommended to visit.

All the clothes you can buy
The Union Mall is conveniently located just next to the Ha Yaek Lat Phrao station, and its a one stop place for all things fashion, similar to what Platinum Mall or MBK can offer. It's six floors offers fashion of mindblowing variety, so much so, you have a really hard time making a final decision. What's more, the mall has several event spaces showcasing the wares of young and upcoming Thai fashion designers, so you know the stuff you are being are leading cutting edge merchandise.

Union Mall is easy to get to via BTS. It is a trendy place where many students go to hangout and shop. It has many things to see and is very spacious compared to Plat Mall that is very crowded. The prices are not that expensive depending on what you are looking for. There is an excellent eyeglass shop called The ONE that can make lenses and glasses in about an 45 minutes. Bought branded frame and lenses and costs me less than $150 USD. I would recommend
Go to Chatuchak Weekend Market do some shopping and then walk for 30 mins to get to Union Mall that way you can cool off and recharge before heading back to your hotel.

I was in Chatuchak Market and decided to check out this mall since I had heard that it was less crowded than other similar places for clothes shopping. The mall appears to be fairly new, so new that some stall were still empty. There were far fewer shoppers than Platinum Mall, where I usually go, probably because of its location as well as the smaller variety of choices.

The top floor was interesting, with so many salons for nail and hair treatment. There are many restaurants to choose from.

I happened to be in the area and so it was worth paying this place a visit. However, I still prefer Platinum Fashion Mall, even with the crowds.

Being plus sized, meant that it was really difficult to look for clothes on Bangkok. However, this specific shop sold a lot of plus sized clothes (~UK 14 to UK 20)

It’s located at J101 and it’s called Big Lady. Apt name hahaha. Photo is of the clothes I got. Comparable to Dorothy Perkins but half the price.

Most prices at Union Mall are fixed. What you see is what you pay and many items are lower priced than found elsewhere. The mall also offers a sale area where shoppers sell at bargain prices.
Union Mall also have may vintage clothes sellers where beautiful 2nd hand clothing can be found (6th floor?)
Easy to reach: take BTS to Mo Chit (last station at Chatuchak) then MRT to Union Mall (first station thereafter to Phahon Yothin).
We will definitely visit Union Mall again.

We took the subway from Sukhumvit to Pathon Yothin station and exit 5 and up the escalator to Union Mall, 5 Flooor Thai Young Designer section. We bought 10 T-shirt for 200 Bht a piece among the 4 of us for our teenage children. We also bought 2 fashionable bag and we notice that Jeffer streak restaurant is gone and been replace by a Korean restaurant.Unfortunately we did not have our dinner here because we have already decided to have seafood at Sornthong
If we have more time, we will shop every floor because we arrived almost 4pm.
Maybe we will arrive here at 11am and have lunch and shop till late afternoon on our the next visit.

It's an air conditioned shopping mall where you can find all fashionable items. Many students hang out after school and college. Try the crepes on2nd floor. You won't miss the smell and the queue.

Went there on 11 March 2012,for Thai young Designer T-Shirt and lunch.Prices here is less touristry and mainly cater for local Thai. Most of the clothes, leather good,Handphone and accessories and foods sold are much lower than MBK.
Travelling to Union Mall is best by Underground subway train to Pathon Yothin Station and go out through Exit 5,where it lead u to an escalator up the Mall second Floor.
Please go there after 12 noon as most shops are open for business.Jeffer streak restaurant is on the 2nd Floor,MK and Japenese restaurant on basement.
No regret going there,as it less crowded.

Near Chatcuchak weekend market, this mall is similar to Platinum Mall but has wider aisles, more orderly, better quality stuff and can still get a decent bargain. More locals patronise this mall and unlike Platinum Mall that caters more to wholesale, Union Mall is refreshing change to the overcrowded and cramp shopping experience at Platinum Mall.
