Great way to get around on the river. Quick, cheap & good sightseeing. It can get busy but it’s worth squashing on for the trip.

Fast and efficient way to travel along the river, the Chao Phraya Express Boat orange flag is 15B per journey regardless of the distance. I suggest take a map easier to navigate. I've travelled the Chao Phraya river for years using the orange coloured flag...More

There are public transportation boats that go up and down the Chao Phraya river, and it is worth a trip. Get on at Sapaan Taksin BTS pier (Sathorn Pier) and go all the way to the Grand Palace. It's super cheap, and is filled with...More

A fantastic way to view Bangkok. Service is every 30 minutes but the boats do get crowded later in the afternoons!

Extremely efficient, but so over crowded it could easily become dangerous. Staff appear brusque but know everything. Just ask. Some boats have a conductor. Many picture opportunities. The tourist boat is slightly more expensive but has a much better ride. The river boats avoid Bangkok’s...More

Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is
Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During
the day, the main street and its small alleyways are
filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and
flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and
all-day markets. The real action, however, happens
after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and
tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast

Take the river taxi (orange flag) and enjoy the crowd and the shuffle. Don't bother with the Grand Palace (500THB). Go to Wat Pho instead - same location - cheaper (100THB) with the same temples and chedi. Smaller and not... More
