The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

I went to visit the Queen Sikrit convention center for a trade show. The show was very well organized with good signage and easy registration. Perfect location for smaller shows as it is basically downtown vs having to trek to Bitec, which is a bit of a commute. While, being at the show and it is time for lunch there are several options to cure your appetite.

I read a review that the food court was great and worth a visit for some shopping. I went when there was no event at the centre. It was generally deserted; short of office workers hitting the food court at lunch time. The food court only accepted cashless payment and did not have the store value card like others. The food seemed mediocre and was more pricey than others. I will not go back again.

This place is for several events. I will go for Travel fair and book fair. It is very convenient by MRT. There are a food court and a restaurant here. The food is so so. I don't like the low ceiling food court. It makes me feel uncomfortable.
However, this place for the events is huge and fun to walk.

First of its kind in Bangkok, and still used for various exhibitions throughout the year. Its commonly referred to as QSNCC, and was named after HRH the Queen of Thailand. Much larger facilities such as Banga and Muang Thong Thani both on the edges of Bangkok have since been built, as the space, and parking available at QSNCC was insufficient.

During my stay in Bangkok I was invited many times to play some lovely games of badminton at this huge beautiful place. Unfortunately since I get here in the evening only to play badminton I did not have the time and or inclination to explore this massive complex. But the badminton, friendship and fitness high was really beautiful.

The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center is located in the city centre of Bangkok.
I went there for the Great India Education Fair. There were numerous representatives of International Schools and Universities all over the India.
In addition to organise events like this, there are plenty places of interest, featuring all sort of shopping.
Good place for an early afternoon on the weekend.

I am referring to the park next to the convention center. This is a great place to take a walk in the shade or go for an early morning or early evening run. There is a even a pretty decent and newly renovated half-pipe underneath the large trees. There are two paths around the lake. The west side of the lake is fully shaded, while the north-,east- and south side are exposed to the sun (apply sun screen).
The park is opened from 5:30 am until 8:30pm (might close a little earlier). The inner 1.85km long path is for runners and walkers (proceeds counterclockwise) while the outer path is for bicyclists and is 1.95km long. It is not huge nor does it offer a lot of variety, but it is a great place where a lot of locals (natives and expats) work out and where the stressed should can find some time to wind down and relax. I have been doing my morning workouts there almost every day for the last seven years and I will keep doing so until I leave for good.
Beverages and food are not permitted, but there is a café at the south end in the convention center.
