Lhong 1919 is some kind of chinese historical attractions in Thailand. I visited there on Chinese new year festival. There're many people and there is a Chinese opera show in that time of the year. There are a lot of chinese arts style , chinese shrine and some gift shops you should go there if you are chinese descent. Lhong 1919 is near my old house on Tha Din Daeng Road which makes me and my mother miss my grandmother.

Weird place. Absolute ghost town. Don't know if it's because of COVID19 but it was completely empty and virtually shut down.

Some nice traditional style chinese courtyard architecture and some nice river views. But apart from that nothing much to see. It is however a great photography location due to the setting and quietness

Found this place by accident using Google Map. A easy 20 min walk there from IconSiam, when near it the road is quiet and full of trees on both sides, like a small village but just minutes away from the busy and noisy main street. The entrance is behind the security guard office, a bit hidden. There is no charge to enter. The house is well maintained, with 2 floors, you can still see some colourful murals on some of the walls. This place is late 19th century, very elegantly built. You will enjoy more if you are interested in Chinese history in Thailand. There are shops and eateries on-site but we didn't try any. You can walk towards the River front to look at the view, next door in the same compound is the temple for the Goddess Of The Sea but it is not opened. Can easily spend 30-40 minutes there and walked around the neighbourhood afterwards.

Lhong 1919, a new tourist attraction in Bangkok on the Thonburi side, is located on the Chao Phraya River, opposite Talad Noi. by reviving the former port.
Lhong 1919 there is a multipurpose area. For events, exhibitions, there are restaurants and cafes. as a source of chill out and meet the city people who want to go back and reminisce about the history And the way of life of people in the early Rattanakosin period passed here.

If you've been to Bangkok many times and no ideas to visit, here can be an option. It combined Thailand and Chinese culture and just some creative arts exhibition.

However, it lacks of the attraction and seems lack of some true cultural things.

You can visit here and try some restaurants, and spend several hours here.

The reviewer martinandjane7 pretty much said it all. Perhaps it is more vibrant at night. And there's not really much "heritage" here--just a couple of one-sentence plaques.

Beginning to think we went to a different place to the other reviewers.
We went on the hoho boat. The place was deserted and to all intents and purposes seemed closed. Only place that looked open was an 'art' gallery in the front left building. I know art is very subjective.... But...... The weirdest load of rubbish I've ever seen. I felt sorry for the artists if what they produced was an expression of their inner mind.
We spent 10 minutes in the gallery and that was enough to send us heading for the next passing boat.
Sorry can't add pic as nothing worth taking pic of.

I read about this place in a blog.Getting to Lhong 1919 is super easy, go to Saphan Taksin and take a hop on hop off boa,t it will take you there.Situated on the other side of the river (that is Wat Arun side), this place is truly great. These old warehouses have been renovated and are now standing brand new to tell us a little bit about the chinese past of Bangkok and the importance of its community.
The entrance is free, the place is artsy, there are a few shops with souvenirs and some other shops with pieces of art work. There is also one cafe (Kopitiam style) where you can have a drink or eat lunch.
The only sad thing is that you have the impression that this place is not visited enough.Maybe a guided tour or some attractions wouldhave helped making people come.
It should be more adevertised also i think cause the heritage bangkok is not so present and when old buildings are renovated it is really woth paying a visit to make it count!! So go there you will not be disappointed and you will participate in keeping this place alive.

A Thai friend recommended me to visit this place since I was on a hop on hop off boat tour. It's worth it! Unique Chinese architectures and many restaurants and cafes in there including some shops if you feel like picking up somethings as souvenir.

A nice calm place which will give you a really nice scene for Instagram for sure. Highly recommended if you want to go somewhere besides the usual tourist traps.
