We know we have nearly arrived at our hotel once this impressive bridge appears on the horizon. It is a work of art really and it is aesthetically pleasing as well as having important functionality.

It also makes for a fantastic opportunity as it majestically spans the river Chaophraya .

Very beautiful indeed!

The Rama VIII Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge crossing the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. It was built to alleviate traffic congestion on the nearby Phra Pinklao Bridge.

Bangkok is getting more beautified and interesting each year, and in this part of the city especially. Some great dining spots on decks over the Chao Phraya, this bridge has an otherworldly and distinctly Thai look about it **

Not far from Banglamphu, twenty minute walk, maybe, to the King Rama VIII park on the other side... nice to get a bit of space and take in a really impressive bridge...

nothing special about this bridge, it is just well lighted and good for pictures. it can be seen in the evenings better but ferries are closed after 7PM, so be careful. the last ferry departures at 6;45Pm-7PM.

An impressive bridge across the Chao Phraya River with a single tower and a fan of cables radiating out from the tower supporting the deck of the bridge. The cables are eye-catching and the height of the tower makes the structure visible from distance along the river. A modern feat of engineering not far from the historical old city center.

Kinda reminded me of the bridge in Boston and in Brunei. Nothing really that impressive, just another long bridge going across the river.

We honestly just went here because the Sotus series filmed near it. It is very beautiful at night, we took a walk on the bridge and the structure is amazing. There is more than enough space for pedestrians to walk on both sides and the view and breeze is really nice.
We even saw some couples dating there.

Its a bridge but looks pretty cool spanning across the river. Traveled on the public ferry and was a good sight to see on our journey to the Grand Palace by river.
