The brochure tells you to get off at Taipei Zoo MRT Station. Don't stop there. Walk outside and a few meters away is the dedicated station to board the Maokong Gondola (cable cars). There was quite a crowd when we went but the queuing was...More

The Maokong Gondola is an extension of the first-rate Taipei Metro System connecting the city with the scenic tea growing hillsides. Pick up the gondola at the Taipei Zoo metro station. On a sunny day the views are superb. However, on some days the mountains...More

Great activity (even on a cold and wet day) for families. NT$200 return using Easycard. There is a lovely Tea House at the top. We went up in a normal cabin and back in a crystal cabin.

Hi, We're heading to Taipei for a couple days in a week. Just wondering about this pass you refer to. I checked out the info at the Maokong metro Taipei website (which I am not permitted to include in this post). We're looking for a two-day pass so we can see lots of temples on Day 1, then go to the Maokong on Day 2, but I don't see a two-day pass that includes the Maokong. What do you think would be best? To just buy two one-day passes, one that's transportation only and the next day the one that includes the Maokong? This is the info I copied from the metro site "2-day Transportation Pass. NT$310" "Taipei Metro and bus services" "1-Day Pass (for retail purchase) NT$150" Taipei Metro "1-day Transportation Pass (Maokong Gondola Version) NT$350" "Taipei Metro, bus services, and Maokong Gondola" Thanks!

There's no halal restaurant I think in Maokong, only hawker food center, we buy fried cassava there, and some juice.
