Just around 15 minutes walk from Xinbeitou Station you'll easily reach the enchanting Beitou Thermal Valley. Going there you'll pass by the beautiful public library and hot spring museum. It's really a must see when your visiting Taiwan! We took our time taking photos in the place, it was very enchanting. We were in awe with the steam coming from... More

The entrance to the thermal valley is narrow and easily overlooked but once you walk in, the valley unfolds itself like a necklace with a green coloured gem at its end. The heat generated from the bottom of the pool rises up and mixes with the mist in the air and forms a veil of sulfur smelled fog hovering over... More

It is not certain to say that this place is a must-see, but for me it's worth visiting. On the day we came, the weather was stunning with sunshine, white puffy clouds on blue sky, cool breezes and yellow turning leaves. It was super crowded as it's on a big holiday. Near the thermal valley, whenever winds blow, smokes that... More

In February, the weather in Taipei was super nice. Having a little walk to the mountain in the peaceful city might be interested. The thermal valley hosts the scenic hot spring with the mountain in the back. Smell the sulphur but it is not to much. The souvenir shop at the entrance has some postcards and offer the post service.... More

Beitou Thermal Valley is our last destination in our free and easy tour to Beitou. It was great to walk along the path from Beitou MRT station to Beitou Museum, Library, Plum Garden and view the real thermal Valley outdoor in a cold cloudy March morning. A lovely walk!

It was raining the day that I went so had limited visibility. About an hour from Taipei on the train but it's a nice get away from the city

Worth a visit, especially that it is so easy to get to from the city, feels like you are somewhere very different suddenly. Can be busy and touristy, but still beautiful.

You could hike up to Beitou Thermal Valley from the MRT station, or you could take a short taxi ride like us (my wife insisted on it). But hiking up isn't that bad, I had done that in my previous visit. You cannot soak any part of your body there, because it's extremely hot. Along the hike up/down, you might... More

In case you've grown tired of temples and shops while going around Taipei, Thermal Valley will give you welcome break with the trees and steaming, sulfuric hot spring. It's a bit of a walk from the main station but there are some attractions you'll see along the way so it's not totally boring. Tips: * There aren't any seats along... More
