Went with Andy Yu for 2 days guided tour at Taipei. He is a warm and helpful guy. English speaking too. Went to visit this two days ago, was a lovely setting but no real scenery, flowers hadn't blossomed (very few opened cherry blossoms) and dotted about land mark pieces of Taiwan but no evidence of why they are there. Not a lot of history explained here either mainly myths, not a must do in my opinion of the traditions of... More

We visited on March 5 at 7:00 am and were luckily able to see a few cherry blossoms as most have withered already. A lot of other flowers were in bloom, adding beauty to the scenery. There weren't many people at the time we arrived and stayed at Yangmingshan. We were able to avoid the influx of people arriving at... More

Came here on 2nd March to see cherry blossoms. Sad to say most had withered. So between the last review here on 24 Feb, the window period to enjoy the flowers is only 1 week. I can only imagine how beautiful it must be when the flowers are in full bloom. I shall plan carefully and visit again.

You can find beautiful view around the area, besides, many pretty flowers and trees worth to visit especially during the Spring time. You can buy flower, plant and fruit in nearby farm. Good spot !

Visited Yang Ming San in the morning for half a day during the flower season. Loved the beautiful sakura in the park, leisure walk and fresh air. At the "Xiao You Keng" area, it was foggy, drizzling and windy. Felt like in fairy land. Watched a short documentary on volcanoes in visitor centre. Better to bring warm clothing, umbrella or... Yangminshan National Park is actually a huge area comprising of numerous trails and visitor centers. We happen to end up at the Qingtiangang Visitor Center after we missed a certain bus stop, but we're pretty glad we actually ended up at the final S15 stop because the hike to Lengshuikeng provided us with a wonderful view of Yangmingshan's gorgeous landscape.... Great for taking walks, going for a bike ride, or run. Its a bit of a bus ride from Taipei proper, but once you have been there its easier to get back.

Right next to Taipei, you can see some really lovely natural scenery at Yang Ming Shan. The sakura flowers (the main attraction here) bloomed late this year, so I didn't have the chance to see them. However, the hibiscus in the park and the calla lilies at Bamboo Lake (竹子湖) were all very beautiful and definitely made up for it.... More

The easiest way to get up here is to take bus 5 or 260 up the big hill all the way to the end. Don't be misled by the one sign along the way that says (in Chinese) "Yangmingshan National Park" (a bunch of us got off near there: wrong!) -- that sign means: this whole area is the National... More
