Everytime I have come here they have had something different on and it is always worth a look in. This time we saw Faint Light and Dark Shadows (my personal favourite) and River Run a rather painful journey into the handling of memory and Taiwan's dark past during the white terror period. There was also Kao Tsang-Hsing's Welding Poetry which... More

Get of the 14th station on the red line and walk across the bridge and you'll be at the museum. I had high hopes for this place seeing as it's the fine arts museum, however I was very disappointed by the exhibitions. The tops were high, but to many lows made it a disappointment. Too little great things and to... More

So... we've a toddler and we've to find somewhere kids will enjoy and are not too difficult to manage. As with most cities, you'll find that good quality libraries/ museums are always good haunts to consider for kids. We enjoyed: - "Small or Big" exhibition at the Children's Art Education Center, which is a part of this Fine Arts Museum...... More

Without knowing there is a fine art museum I was gonna go visit the MOCA only, turned out that there is another art museum in town so I have to go visit! Took bus 247 (or 287) from the Taipei main station right opposite the Taipei main station. Got right off in front of the fine art museum after 30... More

There were four exhibits that I went through: Faint Light, Dark Shadows, Riverrun, KAO Tsan-Hsing Retrospective Exhibition and one other. The light and shadow exhibit featured several artists covering a wide range of themes. In particular were the picture cubes which showed a different picture from each angle, and a series of exhibits featuring pairs of prisoners chained together.

Poor non-local language commentary, including some which seems to carry ideological content. Displays on the day we visited were not to our taste.

Can't believe this fine building is wasted on exhibits I saw. Not worth the train ride. No more to say.

Beautiful structure. vast halls, art in painting, metal, photography, can become a world leader. Check out the story house outside the main gate.

I admit I'm a Philistine when it comes to modern art - the exhibits in this museum left me totally bored. There were only 3 good things about this visit - it was Saturday and admission was free, it was warmer inside than out, and there was a nice view of the Grand Hotel. If you enjoy modern art, don't... Well coordinated and well presented with great staff and the usual friendly feeling that one comes quickly this wonderful city. Politeness seems to be in the very heart of these people. Blown away by the art and various South African contributors .
