The largest zoo in Asia, this was original a private zoological garden. The giant panda house, Formosan animal area, koala house and Asian tropical rainforest area are of particular note.

Very good organization for animals, placing them by countries. At the beggining I was a little bit sad for the animals cause was really hot, but they had all of them shadows where to hide. I was worried about the tract to the animals too,...More

It's a really big zoo but sadly, there are few animals to see. It would be better if they also add more food choices, more snack bars, more options of how to go around the zoo (aside from the shuttle train), and more places to...More

This also my second time being here again after 6 years. In my opinion, not much change from that time. With very reasonable price, you can explore this big zoo all day long. If you want to enjoy all place without rushing, better going on...More

Don't waste your time. Not sure what's all the hype about this zoo. Most attractions there's only one animal inside and if it's sleeping or hiding then you get to see nothing except grass, rocks and water.

Must visit if you are in Taipei with Kids. There are different animals I've never seen before. This place is well maintained. Tip: We went around 11AM, then before sunset we rode the maokong gondola which gave us the perfect view in seeing the Sunset...More

This is no doubt the biggest zoo that I have been to. Interestingly, admission is very cheap as well. You need to factor at least 3/4 of a day if you would like to cover every single enclosure in this zoo. Shuttle service (payable) is...More

I would not recommend this. it makes more sense to visit zoo first and take a break at maokong. most likely you'll spend at least half day in zoo. Then you take gondola up to Maokong, find a nice tea house and enjoy sunset... More

hi! just take the MRT. Much cheaper and stops just a few 100 meters from the zoo. I took the Gondola on the way back just for fun otherwise you can certainly take the MRT back too.

If you are traveling from NY, EVA Air offers a non-stop flight from JFK to Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). Songshan Airport (TSA) is closer to Taipei city and the zoo, but you would have to connect at another airport to... More
