A charming place to visit. Very relaxed and in a tropical garden environment. The panda house was very enjoyable and there is a family friendly restaurant in the same place.

The zoo is clean and well maintained, cheap entrance fee, huge animal collection, their penguins are my favorite, don't miss it.

Take MRT Taipei Zoo. You stop by and buy ticket. It's quite huge for a city zoo. It homes many species from many continents. The ambient and its arrangement are worth visiting.

The zoo is not very well maintained. Compared to the Zoos in western countries, or even in Tokyo or Singapore, this is a comparatively low end zoo. can be visited if you have kids and nothing else to do. easily accessible from the metro.

If you like zoos then this is a must visit. Be prepared to spend at least 2 hours here. The highlight is The Giant Panda's. We were lucky enough to see them feeding. The grounds cover a wide area, so a lot of walking. There...More

This place will have something all will enjoy. Because it's government operated, prices are not all all jacked up, in fact, it's down right cheap. The entrance fee which can be paid via Easycard is only about $2. You can also rent a stroller (also...More

My boyfriend and I decided to visit the zoo on a whim because we had nothing left in our itinerary, and I'm glad to say it was one of the best decisions we made this trip. The Zoo was huge and housed all sorts of...More

Hi! We're planning to take the Maokong Gondola first before visiting Taipei Zoo. But I think you have to visit Taipei Zoo first before you can go to Maokong Gondola. Is there a way where we could ride the Maokong Gondola first and alight at the Taipei Zoo?

I would not recommend this. it makes more sense to visit zoo first and take a break at maokong. most likely you'll spend at least half day in zoo. Then you take gondola up to Maokong, find a nice tea house and enjoy sunset... More
hi, we plan to travel to taipei zoo and take maokong gondola next month. if we take the gondola to the top, we must take the gondola ride back to the zoo? which zoo entrance is more convenience? is the "each adult is up to 2 children for free for the gondola ride" still valid? the fares of the gondola ride is NTD50 or NTD120? look forward for yours replies. thanks, xuefen

hi! just take the MRT. Much cheaper and stops just a few 100 meters from the zoo. I took the Gondola on the way back just for fun otherwise you can certainly take the MRT back too.

If you are traveling from NY, EVA Air offers a non-stop flight from JFK to Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). Songshan Airport (TSA) is closer to Taipei city and the zoo, but you would have to connect at another airport to... More
