Spent about 30 minutes here as organised by our tour company. Beautiful temple and very ornate. Extremely busy that day with many large tour groups vying for space, not only with each other but the pigeons, too! There are hundreds of them, dive bombing from all angles!
Sadly, the weather was not on our side that day - overcast and no view of the mountains. Probably wouldn't visit again.

Dedicated to the revered goddess Barahi, who is considered an incarnation of the Hindu goddess Durga, this temple holds immense significance in Pokhara. It stands as one of the most vital religious sites in the region, drawing a substantial number of visitors each year, encompassing both religious devotees and tourists. The temple's allure lies in its religious sanctity and the cultural experiences it offers to those who come to pay their respects or explore its sacred beauty.

Its like a tiny island surrounded by phewa lake. Can go there by a short boat trip. I found nothing special in it and my recommendation is not to go there until you have religious purpose.

Barahi Temple is one of the holy place to visit while in Pokhara. The temple is located in the middle of the lake, Phewa. One shoiuld rent a boat to go there and its splendid. We rent a boat and reached the temple. It looked nice with pigeons. Some were feeding them. I saw a woman who freed her pigeon there. It was some kind of good luck. Luckily it was the occassion on nepali new year so the temple was lively.(though we were told its always lively) We took some great photos and the temple was worth visiting. But mentainence is required. We did a round boating around temple for about 1 hour and we came back. I wanted to see how the temple was floating..
Must visit ;)

This is a nice little hindu temple. What made him special and famous it is his location. He is on the Phewa-Lake and can only reached by boat. We were there on a weekend and it was very crowded, mostly with local peoples. If you are in Pokhara and you like the culture of Nepal the visit of the lake and this temple belongs to the things you have to do.

You have to take a nice little boat ride to go over there. U can either take an entire small boat or big sharing boats. The temple is small but very nice. Be aware of the boatman, they are always in a hurry and will always tell you the wrong time, so that they can make another trip.

It's worth ticking the box, but the temple is very small and busy. It's fun getting the boat to though in the hustle and bustle. Boat is 100 Rupees for a return.

This is the most important religious monument in Pokhara, Built almost in the middle of Fewa Lake, this two –stories pagoda is dedicated to the boar manifestation of Ajima, the protector’s deity representing the female force Shakti. Devotees can be seen especially on Saturday.

The Holy Barahi Temple is situated on an island of Phewa lake. Barahi is one of the Asta matrikas, a group eight mother goddesses in the Hindu religion. With the head of a sow, Barahi is the shakti (feminine energy, or sometimes, consort) of Baraha, the boar incarnation of the god Vishnu. In Nepal, she is called Barahi. Varahi is worshipped by all the three major schools of Hinduism: Shaktism (goddess worship), Shaivism (followers of the god Shiva) and Vaishnavism (devotion to Vishnu). To visit this temple it needs few minutes of boating.
