Good museum exhibiting the contributions of the Gurkhas in the British and Indian armies. The museum has exhibits in the ground floor and 2 other floors. There is also history of the various Gurkha battalions and their contributions in the various wars and peacekeeping missions.

When you visit Pokhara, make sure you ask your hotel or guest house to arrange a car or taxi to take you to the Gurkha Memorial Museum as it is a little way up the back of Pokhara from the popular Lakeside area and you may not find it unless someone takes you there. You will be amazed at the... More

The Gurkha museum is very well done and it would take a few hours to totally digest everything it has to offer. Many items to look at but also several stories to read. There are 3 floors in total and the museum covers the history of Gurkhja soldiers from the very beginning to modern times. Entrance fee is only 200... More

We visited the Gurkha Memorial Museum in Nov. Anyone who is interested in the history and legacy of the Gorkhas must visit this. They have a souvenir shop where one can purchase authentic Gorkha Khukuries of different types. The exhibits are neatly displayed and record the Gorkha history from the Anglo-Nepalese war of 1814-16. Highly recommended.

We visited on 2 December 2016. Dad had always talked about the brave Ghurkas but I had not been aware that they had been in Gallipoli backing up our brave ANZACS. Our Aussie soldiers are held in very high esteem yet these brave men took it one step further. A must see for everyone.
