- Richard WongHong Kong, China121 contributionsEnjoy the every moment in the Annapurna Mountain AreaI did Annapurna base camp trek from 27 Feb to 4 Mar (including orine rest day that I requested). As a first time trekker, ABC trek is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It allowed me to immerse myself in the scenic nature and enjoy every passing moment. The trek is not only getting to the famed Annapurna base camp’s signpost. The magnificent mountains, gorgeous valleys, colorful villages, bird’s chirping, clean air, combine to form a satisfying sensory experiences. Life in the mountain villages is characterized by simplicity and modesty. The journey itself is always more than its destination.Visited March 2024Travelled soloWritten 14 March 2024
- 喻丰 鄭9 contributionsABC family trek experienceWe finished Annapurna base camp trek from 24 March to 3 April including Poonhill that we requested. Being as a Scuba diver rather than a trekker, ABC trek is not an easy trip for us. There are plenty of uphill and downhill, but somehow it’s worth it. We are lucky to see the sunrise in Poonhill, after Poonhill we separate with our parents and go different ways of our trips. Parents heading back to Pokhara and we keep going and luckily to see the beautiful mountains at ABC. The trek is accompanied by Ramesh, Bipson, Binod Dharel ,Sudip from Bold Himalaya. Ramesh (parents guide) is very passionate and take good care of mama, Bipson (parents porter) is young and cute, Binod (our guide) helps us to catch up on our schedules (because we are slow very day), Sudip is our porter he is very strong 💪Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 3 April 2024

This trek can be accomplished either on as few as 6 days or you can meander your way along the Himalayan foothills for up to 3 weeks. If you are acclimatized well, you can also helicopter in. The sights you see and the sounds you hear are heavenly. No wonder, Annapurna Base Camp ABC trek is popular the world over.Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 13 April 2024

This is must to do if you want to have time of your life and see beautiful mountain scenery The trek can be done easily without a guide, but may come handy. The trail is properly signed. If you do not want to carry-on a heavy back pack hire a porter, they you can wear just water and other petty stuff for your day and admire the beauty. The prices for food and drinks are fixed the same is for accommodation tough negotiation is possible if you have dinner and breakfast in your tea house they can reduce the price or wave it off. I found the meals tasty and filling, if you have a curry or Dal Bhat you can ask for second helping. Meals are around 500 – 800 NPR, pizza or burgers available too. Rooms were clean, some bigger some small, blankest clean. Sometimes equipped with socket for charging, if not it possible in common room for charge. Hot showers available even at Annapurna base camp (for charge). The drinking water is available at all Tea Houses, some charge for it especially close to ABC. On the way some sources available too, if you are not sure about the quality use filter or buy purification tables before the trek (100 NRP). Trekking stick are advantage but the trek can be done without or on the way you can make one from bamboo. The day before start of the trek I meet a friend in Pokhara hostel with whom I could share the taxi to Pokhara bus station for Nayapul, accommodation but chiefly to share wonderful time and rewarding experience and magnificent view of the scenery and mountain range.
I recommend to do make a trek via Poon Hill as this 3 days extension is worth of effort and early morning climb to the hill for spending Himalaya range views. On total it takes between 9-10 days to enjoy the trek and get good acclimatization for higher elevation.
Before you start the ABC trek or similar one I suggest some training to boost the fitness level if you do not excessive on regular basis. On the trek there are some section with steep stairs or slope for 30-45 minutes. Covid was not fully over in April 2022 but traveling w/o restriction was possible, the trail and accommodation was not busy as in good old times which was plus.

The view from Annapurna Base Camp is astonishing. We are a group of 6 people trekking to ABC during 9-16 APR 2023.
The round-trip took about 8 days from Ghandruk to ABC and back to Ghandruk.
Even I love the view from the top, I do really enjoy the view during the route also.
Our group traveled with a guide from the company “Heaven on Nepal.” Our guide was so supportive and helpful. Recommended!

It is one of the most beautiful treks passing through the diverse ethnic group's culture and verify vegetation forest and wildlife. 11 days and 5 to 6 hours of moderate trekking and unbelievable Himalayas scenery. The trek can be done without the mountain guide

Amazing trek to the Annapurna Base Camp, enjoying every single moment of it... also exhausting, never climbed so many steps in my life... But the views, Mount Machapuchare, Annapurna Range, the villages, the people, friends you make on the road, a really wonderful and rewarding experience!

I love this walk - in 6-9 days you see everything from rice paddies in villages, to amazing waterfalls, to soaring mountains, and deep valleys with glorious mountain views at every turn. It is very accessible from Pokhara which is good and bad. The walk goes along roads more now in the lower reaches, but the tea houses are better than before. It can be very busy though and this means the LITTER has become really bad. I was so disappointed this time to see how much rubbish was strewn all along the path - chocolate wrappers, plastic bottles, chip packets everywhere. It was fun to discover a Melbourne trained barista and his coffee machine as high up as Himalaya now, as well as a good cafe in Chhomrong. Still no western style toilets at ABC itself, but they have been retro-fitted to the showers in most other places now. Hot showers and wi-fi a bit hit and miss so be flexible about these things. A glorious walk - shame about the rubbish.
