Right off the street, stands this lovely popular Tibetan pilgrimage site dating to the 17th century; perhaps smaller than some other stupas, but nonetheless noteworthy for its escape from earthquake damage.

Kathesimbu Stupa is located in Thamel area, so it is easy for tourists to visit. It is much more a square in a residential area than a temple. Indeed this place is not quiet. Anyway this is a typical stupa, and if you see it...More

While on the way from Thamel to Kathmandu Durbar square, you can find this little square with a temple and this stupa. It's nice to make a quick stop here and look around. You don't need to spend a lot of time here though.

Was going through Thamel along with my friends. Suddenly reached here and became so happy to find it. Went in, spent around 15 minutes here. Not much to see but yes little away from hustle bustle. So stayed and spent some good time.

I visited Kathesimbu Stupa in april and I liked to walk on the roof. The little shops were nice too. But for me it was not a must. I just came from EBC and I still was full of those beautiful mountains I had seen....More
