Really interesting to see street vendors sell fruits, vegetable, fish, chicken and peppers. Try the ghost pepper!

Definitely check this busy, crowded, noisy market out. It's colorful with veggies, fruits, spices, and locals. Evade Thames for some shopping experience. You can buy anything such as spices and blankets. Also, rat Street food. Had a plate of chow mein and masala tea for 45rupees.

If you want it, it is here. The market is a locals market and extremely busy. I really enjoyed looking at the vegetables - all fresh and great varieties. you can shop for anything here. There is an interesting guilt topped Pagoda in the square - the Annapurna Mandir - which appropriately is dedicated to the god of grain and... More

This is an amazing street which caters to all sorts of shopoholics ranging from the local vegetabes to stylish contoures. You can all get them very cheap. Do not forget to use your bargaining skills:)

In the middle of the town lies a very busy market with all sorts of goods and accessories, local agricultural to continental markets. Walking is difficult through the market place and one may lose the way if not confident with the turns and exits.

If you're traveling with a local person you can visit asan shopping area or else you could be lost in the overcrowded place. You can buy any stuff you want in retail or wholesale, from stationeries to garments to electronic devices. The main problem I find is the area is mismanaged and the roads aren't constructed properly.

It's basically a local market for the locals. Nothing much for tourists who are expecting trekking equipments or gifts. A kilometre down from Thamel.

in fact Asan is my favourite place in Kathmandu, bustling local daily activities is great for photographing. Seek local foods here... cheap and delicious.
