Lord Vishnu

A lovely temple. If one has the time to spare(A bit far from the city) its a must visit. Ask the locals about the history of the temple, its pretty interesting.

As all the places in Kathmandu, this temple is also very old and has a unique statue of Lord Vishnu resting on snakes. The temple is not very well maintained.

It is very stunning and overpowering with very serene face of the statue.I only wish it can be protected from the birds around.

We visited this during our Nepal trip in December 2010. The temple deity is Lord Vishnu, lying on Ananta Sesa(snake with 11-hooded heads) in the cosmic ocean. The Deity is over 1,000 years old. Lord Vishnu is about 5m (17 ft) long and is lying in a 13m (43 ft) long tank, as if floating with his legs crossed. His... More

It's a religious place for Hindus which contains the largest statue of Hindu God "Vishnu" in Nepal. It's a 17 feet long statue lying in a 42 feet long tank. Also known as sleeping God. Gigantic and Attractive.. It's a marvelous example of stone craving. The other thing I liked the most is the management done within the temple. The... More
