You can't believe the shear size of this! It is tucked away outside KTM but a short drive. Reminded me of Rio and how awe inspiring our beliefs are.

I went to visit a friend who lives in Sanga and I have to admit that it was lovely to climb up and see the sunset under the world's tallest Shiva statue!

On the way to Nagarkot we visited the Kailashnath Mahadev statue. It is situated on a very high hill in Sanga. It looks magnificent from a distance as you drive towards the hill. The statue is 144ft in height and is made of copper, zinc, concrete and steel. It is designed to resemble the Indian god Shiva. There are many... More

we were passing by on the way from Nagarkot to Namo Buddha monastery. it was in interesting place to visit, but unless it is an important religious shrine for you, I'm not sure it would be worth the traffic hassle to make a day trip out of Kathmandu just to come here.

The beautiful and powerful statue of Lord Shiva as Kailasanatha/dweller of Kailasha is stunning. It is a new statue and inorder to house this statue the humble donors created a beautiful garden and a centre for alternative medicine. It lies in the District to Bhaktapur and easily reachable from Kathmandu city within an hour. within. The environment is wonderful and can... More

When you go there it serves two things. You go to see the longest Shiva and it's a long drive as well. The place is so beautiful and spiritual.

Away from the main city, though a must visit. On the top of the hill. Option to go by cab all the way up though walk from the hill side is good. There is a resort for which you will have to buy tickets at NPR 100.00 per head to take a short and more comfortable walk.
