The Garden of Dreams, a neo classical historical garden, is situated in the midst of Kathmandu city, Nepal. The Garden's design has much in common with formal European gardens: paved perimeter paths, punctuated by pavilions, trellises, and various planting areas, surrounded by a sunken flower garden with a large pond at its center. It is an architectural landscape that encourages the visitor to stroll around and discover the Garden's treasures from many different vantage points.

Went around 9:30am. Cost 200npr to enter. Workers were still cleaning the paths and there was some rubbish still to be moved - therefore going a little later then first opening might be good (opens at 9am). Enjoyed sitting watching the birds and squirrils, reading a book. Nice relaxing place to go if you are over the dusty streets of... More

An incredibly beautiful garden space in the middle of busy Thamel. What struck me most was the elegant and serene garden design - absolutely beautiful! Perfect for an afternoon of quiet reading, reflection or drawing. There is also a most wonderful cafe. Entrance costs R.s.100

This was our 4th trip to Kathmandu and one place we always find ourselves hanging out for is the Garden Of Dreams. Its right alongside busy, thriving, touristy Thamel and yet once inside the gardens there is peace plus about 60 species of well cared for plants, squirrels, sculptures and beautiful objects of art. We love spending a quiet reflective... More

Picturesque gardens a stone's throw from the maddening crowd. The water features and manicured flora make the Garden aptly named. The restaurant is also decent with good Nepali food available.

This is a nice garden but I am not sure it is a must-see. I asked my husband how it was different from other gardens and he said "because you have to pay for it".
