This was the third presidential library/museum for us on a two week trip. It's an older facility, but quite unique. Start in the Visitor's Center. Then, you get a "personal" tour of Ike's boyhood home, then go into the museum. It's not as flashy as the newer presidential sites, but might actually contain more visible information. The lighting could have... More

A little disappointed that the museum was under remodeling and therefore the viewing was pushed together. However, it was worth the visit and learning more about this outstanding person. The grounds were impressive and memorable.

As a History & Military Buff there was no way I was going to miss Ike's Museum. Had limited time so the Library didn't get a look in but the Museum was a treat. Rushed through but picked up the gems I reckon. Learnt of his early & West Point years, his servitude to MacArthur early on (and his revenge... More

Traveling in Kansas during the recent Thanksgiving break, we seized the opportunity to visit the Dwight D. Eisenhower Library and Museum complex. In tow were my wife, our two kids, ages 10 and 9, and our friends from nearby Salina. This would be my fourth presidential museum so after the first three I was ready to embark on learning about... Tour Dwight Eisenhower's boyhood home and follow his progress through WW II and the presidency of the United States. All of it is well presented history and the grounds and buildings are in excellent shape. Highly recommend a couple of hours here.

This is the third in my Presidential libraries visits. By Ike's day, I guess they were saving everything because a large research library is associated with the center. Abilene is hometown midwest. Small, struggling. You could see the forging of a young man in this environment. The railroad runs behind his house. The museum was mostly about his military achievements.... More

Visited on Thanksgiving weekend with family and enjoyed learning about one of America's heroes. Started out in Eisenhower's childhood home which demonstrated how simple his boyhood was, 6 boys and two adults lived in what would now be considered a very small home. Then off to the museum which had lots of information on WWII. Although interesting and educational, I... More

The museum was a really worthwhile visit to pay honor to such an incredible American, soldier, and President of the USA. Exhibits and films were well-worth each and every minute spent there! I walked away with a huge respect for him during such a serious time in our country's history. Be sure to visit the chapel where the President and... More

This is a very well-done complex that has a museum, chapel and a restored residence. We went after lunch and spent over three hours there without even trying to and missed the tour of the residence. This complex is not as grandiose as some of the other more modern Presidential complexes, but it is very well done and provides an... More

Well worth the stop. Very pretty grounds. Short tour of boyhood home available. The welcoming center was not welcoming at all and I was very put off by the rudeness and indifference of the staff. A poor way to be introduced to a lovely museum.
