Went there with friends for a special presentation on the Blue Valley and the towns that disappeared. Would like to spend more time there to browse the museum as it looked really nice and organized.

The Heritage Center in Abilene is like taking a trip back in time. We visited the restored General Store, Old School, the Farm Implement Shed, and, best of all, the 1901 Carousel built by C.W. Parker. We love carousels, and this one is special. Instead...More

This is the best way you could spend your time and money. We didn't have time to see the telephone museum but for 2 dollars we rode the carousel and toured the outside historical buildings and artifacts. I cannot recommend this stop enough. Everyone there...More

This was a lovely surprise. The center had a number of historical village buildings. For us the real treat was the restored carousel. Loved the ride. Brought back lots of memories. Nice gift shop.

If you are wondering about the local history of Abilene - this is the place to visit. Nice displays of cattle drive history and the cowtown era.

Such a friendly family place, the kids loved the old carousel ride. And we were oddly surprised that they absolutely loved the telephone museum. Who knew!? They are all ages 3-9. The old school house was a hit also.

A ton of history packed into a wonderful place and tour. The phone instillation was one of my favorites. And you can ride an old carousel, what more can you ask for?

We stopped here in a group with lots of kids. They enjoyed the museum, especially the area with telephones! And, of course, the carousel was lots of fun! I only wish we had more time for the museum, but we plan to revisit again soon.
