If you like big things, you'll like this gigantic bronze Buddha. It's a modern monument, and the grounds are still under construction, but you can walk around, enter the monastery, enjoy the view of Thimphu, and marvel at how Bhutan spent over USD$100M.

This is an iconic statue, grand and spiritual. It dominates the landscape, and when its surrounds are complete, will be quite the gathering place, although it already is.

Buddha statue - Nice calm and beautiful place. Definitely worth a visit when you are in Thimpu. The ride to the statue is also a good one

This is a huge Buddha statue housing a meditation room inside. It is very modern and is still in the process of being constructed. The artwork inside is colourful and detailed. If you have time available for extra sightseeing, it is worth coming up here...More

If you can afford 40-50 thousand per hour, it is fine but I did not see much sense in it as road travel is awesome, one finds lot of scenic beauty at eye level. Pls note that helicopter charges are in the range of US Dollar... More

The Takin Reserve is around 300 NU which is roughly $3 AUD or $4.80 US so it isn't expensive. Some have said it is but I think it is more than well priced.
