One of the tributaries of Zambezi River, home to 1000 of pool of Hippos, Crocs and considerable elephants community, it passes through the pristine South Luangwa national park and joins with Sheri river in Malawi to meet Zambezi and down to Indian Ocean. My most exotic vacation I think it must have been. Zambia has not utilised it potential in tourism. It was nothing organised. I just saw it as we crossing Luangwa bridge, it was nice indeed and the bridge was woderfully made more especially in rain season

North Luangwa Valley is a lovely remote are to visit. You need to expect little services, rough dirt roads, dry river crossings (only go in the dry season), heat, tetse flies, basic food at any accomodation and then it will be magic. Animals abound, the elephant population is recovering and the security in the park is tight. We stayed both... More
