The Museum is a good starting point of any tour in Sudan so that when reaching near-empty archeological sites across the country you can visualize the ancient grandeur. Translation into English available for most of the items in display.

a wrap up for the whole history of the nile valley ..it needs more maintenance and air conditioning to be more appealing

This was really a highlight of Khartoum. Seeing the artifacts and well described displays gave an excellent setup for the following 9 days of travel.

Visited the museum as part of a tour. Luckily I was with my own guide who explained the exhibits and history. Museum staff themselves are not very helpful and only wanted to sell you guide books. Be warned it is extremely hot inside the main...More

I enjoyed my time there, although there was a power cut during the first half hour. It’s sad to see all that history being neglected and find out that some stupid people wrote their memories on ancient stones !!!!!!!

Lots of interesting exhibits here, both inside and out. I spent a lot of time just looking a the pottery and stone carvings, etc.

This is the museum to visit in Khartoum. It must have been built in the 1960s when the Aswan Dam was made. The temples from the Sudan side was moved here, and plenty of statues. Not much has happened since then, but it is still...More
